High Tides at Hudson Bend High Tides at Hudson Bend

Our Buccaneers are making waves and we’re here to celebrate it! Stay connected to our campus with a weekly look at the great things happening across The Bend.

Computer Science

This week in Computer Science, students are wrapping up their mini side-scroller games, which they have been designing and coding in pairs. Inspired by games like Geometry Dash, students are applying foundational programming concepts to build their own interactive experience. As they wrap up their projects, they are focusing on more advanced skills such as complex sprite movement and sprite collision detection. These concepts help bring their games to life by allowing characters and objects to move smoothly and interact realistically.

In the coming weeks, students will take these skills even further as they begin coding their very own video game entirely from scratch. This project is an exciting step toward developing creativity, problem-solving, and real-world programming skills!

District Secondary Teacher of the Year! District Secondary Teacher of the Year!

Our very own Debra Rosen (8th Grade US History teacher) won DISTRICT secondary Teacher of the Year! She will now move onto possibly win Region 13 Teacher of the Year.

If you know Ms. Rosen, please be sure to tell her congratulations! We are lucky she is a Buccaneer!

Final Exam Schedule Final Exam Schedule

Final exams will take place May 19–22. Please plan for your child to be present for all exams so they do not need to return after the school year ends for summer break. Make-up exams will be held on Tuesday, May 26, at 9:00 a.m.

Our 8th graders will celebrate the end of their middle school journey with a breakfast and video of memories beginning at 10:25 a.m., followed by the awards ceremony at 11:00 a.m. Parents may attend the breakfast only if they are volunteering; a PTO sign-up will be sent out soon. All parents are welcome to attend the awards ceremony. Teachers will contact families directly if their student will be receiving an award.

The end of the school year is approaching quickly! Let’s finish strong!
