Weather Appropriate Attire

The rain is here! Although acclimating to rainy weather is a part of growing up in the Pacific Northwest, it is also very helpful to have appropriate attire. Please send your child to school with attire that will project against moderate rain. A rain jacket is a must!

Online Verification is Open

Online Verification is Open! A big thank you to all parents who have already completed online verification. If you haven't done so yet, please log into ParentVUE before September 20 to review/update your students' information through the Online Registration tab, even if you don't think anything has changed since last year.

If you have forgotten your ParentVUE password, go to the login page, click "I am a Parent," then click "Create New Account or Reset Password" and choose "Forgot Password". For guidance, visit the LOSD website (under "Enrolling and Transfer > Online Registration) or contact the front office at 503-534-2350.

PTO Registration (Repeat)

For your convenience, the PTO is offering online registration. Registration allows you to sign up for a variety of volunteer opportunities, pay the classroom fee, and make an optional donation.

Welcome to My World Volunteers Needed (Repeat)

Welcome to My World is a school-board approved program developed by the Student Services Parent Advisory Committee (SSPAC) as an opportunity for students to experience what life might be like for an individual with a disability.

Students will rotate between 3 stations: Dyslexia, Sensory Processing Disorder, and Speech and Language Impairment. At the end of the session, each class will reflect on their personal reactions to the experience, their thoughts about what it is like for students with a disability, and a plan for how to be a supportive community member to a peer who may be experiencing this disability. The experience will take place in the library at the following times:

September 24 | Neerhout @ 12:30 to 1:30

September 24 | Swan @ 1:30 to 2:30

September 25 | Bartlett @ 1:30 - 2:30

We can’t run this program without volunteers! If you’ve never seen W2MW done, don’t worry, you will receive training materials to review at home and a training 15 prior to the session.

If you have any questions, please contact your SSPAC School Representative Gina Johnston (Johnston_inkley@yahoo.com) or School Counsellor Hayley Drimmel (drimmelh@loswego.k12.or.us).

PTO Rummage Sale (Repeat)

Who has a drawer, closet or garage full of items that are no longer serving their purpose? We do!! If you do too, join us in donating these items to the Forest Hills Rummage Sale. This is a fun fundraising event that allows all of us to benefit from the rehoming of items that are taking up much needed space and are no longer bringing us happiness. Use the next few weeks to collect all of your unwanted items and then bring them to the gym on October 24th (more details to come). We hope you will then return on the 25th, 26th & 27th to shop for a hidden treasure you can’t live without. All proceeds go directly to the PTO to use to support our children at Forest Hills.

We look forward to rummaging with you,
Kacy Bradshaw & Shellie Sheppard
