At HEMS, we look at the criteria for students to be successful and those are: the ABCs. Our Attendance, Behavior, and Classwork is what sets HEMS apart for the other middle schools in Cabell County. We have high expectations for each of our students to be successful in and out of the classroom.

• 14th - 5th Grade StepUp Day at HEMS
• 15th - 8th Grade Field Trip to Columbus
• 22nd - 8th Grade StepUp at Huntington High School
• 28th - End of 4th 9 Weeks
• 28th - LAST DAY OF SCHOOL!

The last week of August, any student who attended for all 5 days were awarded 5 PBIS Points on Friday to spend in the PBIS Store

Students who are present all 14 days of school in November will qualify for a special movie before Thanksgiving break!

❄️☃️ Perfect Attendance = Snowball Showdown! ☃️❄️

Students who had perfect attendance for the month of December are eligible to participate in a snowball fight in the gym on December 19th! 🥶❄️

Homeroom Comeptition! Each week, homeroom attendance will be looked at to see which grade level homeroom wins the covented PBIS points!

Each day will either be a prize day or not a prize day. If it's a prize day, each student who is present is eligible for their name to be entered in a drawing for gift cards OR each student could get PBIS points.
