Dear Hardy Families,
I've loved visiting classrooms and seeing learning come alive at Hardy! TK students explored molecules and tested what’s heavier in water, Kindergarteners practiced digraphs with enthusiasm, and 5th and 4th graders prepared for their Walk Through the American Revolution and Walk Through California. The curiosity and excitement are incredible—thank you for fostering a love of learning!
Friendly reminder: Friday, March 7, is a non-instructional day—no school for students. Please plan accordingly!
Exciting news—Hardy is adding a third TK classroom next year! Learn more about our TK and Kindergarten programs and enrollment for next year at our very first TK/K Info Night, happening tomorrow, February 25, from 6:00-7:00 PM. See below for details!
We’re also gearing up for an exciting Literacy Week from March 10-15, and this year’s theme is The Wizard of Oz! There’s truly no place like a good book, and we can’t wait to celebrate with a week full of reading adventures, mystery readers, special D.E.A.R. (Drop Everything and Read) themes, a book character parade, our PTA-sponsored book fair, and an all-school read-out. See the flyer below for more details.
Calling all volunteers! We’re still looking for more Everyone A Reader volunteers to support our young readers. Your time makes a real difference in student success! If you haven’t found a way to get involved yet, this is a fantastic opportunity to make an impact. Join us in fostering a love of reading!
With Gratitude,
Mrs. Aragon
2025-2026 TK Enrollment Information
If you have neighbors, preschool connections, family, or friends interested in Hardy's TK or K programs for next year, please invite them to our first-ever TK/Kinder Info Night on Tuesday, February 25, from 6:00-7:00 PM. This special event will give parents an opportunity to:
- Visit a TK or Kindergarten classroom and experience the learning environment firsthand
- Learn about daily routines and how they support early academic and social development
- Get insights on transitioning from preschool and how we help children adjust to a school setting
- Discover the benefits of early learning and how TK and Kindergarten build a strong foundation for success.
We look forward to welcoming new families and helping them prepare for this exciting next step! School tours are also available on March 13 and April 8 at 8:00 AM—call the office to register. See below for more information.
Beginning in the 2025-26 school year, Universal Transitional Kindergarten (UTK) will be officially referred to as "TK."
TK Enrollment Process
Enrollment for TK will open in March 2025 and will be completed online. Parents will be able to enroll their child at their school of residence and upload all required documentation through the district’s enrollment system.
If our school reaches full capacity, our office staff will assist families in securing a seat at the next closest school with available space.

NEW FALL PRIMETIME 25-26 APPLICATION PROCESS!
We are pleased to share that Hardy will continue offering free before- and after-school care through the PrimeTime program. This program provides care starting at 6:15 AM before school and until 6:00 PM after school at no cost to families.
Priority Enrollment Criteria
Under the California Department of Education's Expanded Learning Opportunities Program (ELOP) grant, students in grades TK-6 who meet at least one of the following criteria will receive priority consideration for enrollment:
- Homeless or foster youth (highest priority)
- Low-income families (eligible for free/reduced meals under LCFF)
- English Learners
If your student does not meet any of the above criteria, enrollment will be first come, first served based on submission date and time, depending on available program space.
Application Information
All families must reapply each year, so if your child is currently enrolled in PrimeTime and you will need care again next year, you must submit a new application.
Application Window:
🗓 Opens Monday, April 14, 2025, at 8:00 AM
🗓 Closes Friday, May 2, 2025, at 9:59 PM
If you anticipate needing after-school care at any point during the 2025-26 school year, we strongly encourage you to apply during the initial application window.
Families who do not get into PrimeTime will have the opportunity to enroll in Klassic Kids, our paid after-school care provider.
For more details, please visit the PrimeTime website.
Weekly Attendance Snapshot: 93.85% (Goal: 95%)
First grade is still leading the way in our attendance campaign, with 2nd and 3rd grade close behind! Thank you for your commitment to ensuring students are at school, on time, each day!
If your student is home sick, please remember to notify the front office by phone or complete the "Report an Absence" form.
