Noble Family Newsletter
February 2, 2026
At Noble Elementary, we believe that every student has the right to learn and grow in a safe and respectful environment. We also believe that every student has the power to make positive choices, learn from mistakes, and become stronger leaders in our school community. Noble Elementary empowers all students for college and career readiness through AVID’s schoolwide focus on WICOR, student success skills, and a growth mindset.
As we begin Black History Month at Noble, we are intentionally centering reflection, learning, and celebration of the contributions and resilience of Black Americans. This month invites us to thoughtfully uplift voices and stories across classrooms and shared spaces in ways that are authentic, affirming, and connected to our students’ lived experiences.
Tough Classrooms
Noble Families,
As we prepare for a new week, we remain focused on helping students grow academically, socially, and emotionally, especially as state testing approaches. I recently shared with teachers a Wall Street Journal article highlighting research showing that classrooms with clear expectations, strong routines, and caring, consistent teachers help students build resilience and skills that lead to long-term success. While learning can sometimes feel challenging, these moments are often where the most growth happens.
Please know that our staff is deeply committed to supporting every child with encouragement, structure, and care as we work together to prepare students not only for assessments, but for life beyond the classroom.
Mr. Walker, M.Ed.
Principal
From the Assistant Principal's Desk
Noble Families,
Last week at Noble, students and staff continued to focus on strong expectations, positive behavior, and learning together. Across the building, students earned hundreds of points for being kind, safe, respectful, responsible, and on time, showing their commitment to doing their best each day. Attendance continues to be a priority, and while winter weather impacted January attendance across grade levels, we appreciate families’ continued partnership in supporting regular school attendance.
As we move into February, our focus remains on maintaining high expectations while providing meaningful support for students academically and behaviorally. Teachers are engaging students in thoughtful learning activities that encourage problem-solving, reflection, and independence. We also continue celebrating student success, including our upcoming February Allstars recognition on February 11. Thank you for your ongoing support and collaboration as we work together to help every student grow and succeed.
Ms. Barrett
Assistant Principal

Note from the Nurse
Some friendly reminders for the school year:
Medication should be given at home when at all possible. If your child were to require medication, either prescription or over-the-counter, be given at school, a "Permission for Medication" form must be completed by their health practitioner and given to the school nurse. Any medication must be delivered to school by an adult in the container in which it was dispensed. This is Ohio law and CH-UH Board policy designed to protect children. No medication will be given without a licensed health provider's order on file in the Health Office.
Health History should be kept current. The Health Office needs to know of any changes in your child's health. Serious illnesses, allergies, surgeries, and chronic conditions should be reported. Children who have life-threatening allergies or medical conditions should have their medications at school and their Emergency Action Plans and signed "Permission for Medication" forms on file by the beginning of the school year.
Emergency Phone Numbers, cell phones, home phone numbers, etc., should be included on your Emergency Medical Authorization and updated throughout the year as needed.
Guidelines for Attendance are as follows:
Your child should be kept home if he/she has any of the following within the last 24 hours:
Fever ≥ 100° F
Vomiting
Diarrhea
Constant cough
Fresh cold with constant runny nose
Rash that has not been diagnosed
Strep throat (should not return to school until 24 hours after medicine has started. If a child has only been cultured, please wait for results before sending them back to school.)
Please remember that contagious disease must be reported to the school.
Noble Lost & Found
As you can see, our lost and found is very full. If your child is missing any sweatshirts, lightweight jackets, lunch boxes, or water bottles, please ask them to check during their lunch hour. Our wonderful front office team will be able to assist them!
Please help us by writing your student’s name on items brought to school so we can help them get back to their owner.

Communication Plan - Persons with Disabilities
The District has adopted a plan for communications with persons with disabilities, which is available at the following link: Communication Plan. The plan establishes procedures to ensure that the District's communications with persons with disabilities, including applicants, participants, members of the public, and companions with disabilities, are as effective as its communications with others.
OST Question of the Week
As Ohio State Testing approaches—with testing windows opening as early as April for students in Grades 3–5—we are beginning a Question of the Week initiative to help students build confidence and familiarity with OST-style questions. Each week, students will engage with one thoughtfully selected question to practice skills, problem-solving, and test-taking strategies in a low-pressure way. This ongoing exposure helps students feel more comfortable with the format and expectations while reinforcing that learning is about growth and effort over time. Families can support this work by encouraging students to talk about their thinking, explain their answers, and approach each question with curiosity and confidence.
The Superintendent Winter Reading Challenge Is Here!
What: Read as many books as you like. Get the Elementary Reading Challenge Snowflakes sheet from your teacher and color in a snowflake for every book you read. Be sure to include the title of the book, and write or draw a picture answering the prompt, “I liked this book because…” Also be sure to put your name and your teacher’s name on the sheet.
Raffle: The first week of March, we will pull names to give out prizes from the raffle box. All students’ names will then be combined the first week of March to pull for our grand prize winner.
