It was great to see so many of you at yesterday’s Back to School Bonanza! We lucked out with the weather and were able to enjoy our popsicles outside and have some fun at the playground. If you weren’t able to attend and still need to bring in school supplies, please bring those on the first day of school.

The PTA is searching for a volunteer with a CFA or financial background to perform the annual PTA financial audit due this fall. Please reach out to pierceelementarytreasurer@gmail.com if you, or someone you know, would be willing to help us with this incredibly important task.

What is Membership Toolkit (MTK)? MTK is a website managed by the Pierce PTA and is available only to parents of Pierce Elementary School students where you can:

• Visit our Store:
• Pay classroom dues, which support activities in your child’s classroom throughout this school year. Unused dues roll over with your child’s class each year and, remaining funds are used for the 5th Grade Celebration & Class Gift.
• Make a donation to the PTA to help us support both school needs for staff as well as students.
• Purchase tickets for our community events (Carnival tickets currently on sale!)
• Other items available for sale during the year such as Pierce Photo Calendar, Yearbooks (sold in spring), and more!

Due to ongoing construction, Pierce Street between Lincoln Street and 14 Mile Road will be completely closed to all vehicle traffic through October. Please utilize Edgewood Street to access the Bird Avenue entrance to the parking lot for all school activities until Pierce Street reopens.

Hi! I’m Sarah Walby. I’m a mom of two, and we have been a Pierce family since 2019. My son Drew is a 1st grader at Pierce, and my daughter Mia is a 4th grader at BCS. I work in Human Resources. I love music, reading, and finding any excuse not to have to cook! I’m excited to be a member of the PTA Board, and looking forward to the chance to work with our amazing educators, students and parents.

Hi Pierce families! I'm Jessica Valukas and am currently the PTA Treasurer. My husband and I have two daughters: Kate (3rd grade at Pierce) and Isabel (6th grade at Derby) and we have been a part of the Pierce community since 2017. We have loved our time at Pierce and I am looking forward to supporting the Pierce staff and students and engaging with our Pierce families this year. I work in retiree health benefits consulting and love baking, skiing, and traveling with our family.

Happy fall! I’m Emily Rollins and will be this year’s PTA Secretary. This is our family’s 7th year at Pierce – my daughter, Avery, started with the preschool program and, somehow, is beginning her 5th grade year – time flies! I also have a son, Patrick, who is a 3rd grader at BCS. I work in retail data analytics and love trying new restaurants – happy to take any recommendations! I’m so excited to meet many of you this year and help support our families, teachers, and amazing staff here at Pierce.
