Welcome Back, Jacks!
NTHS LumberGram
Principal's Message
NTHS Lumberjack Family,
As summer winds down, and our thoughts begin to focus on the start of the 2026-2027 school year, I am hopeful that each of us is ready for a great beginning to the year!
This school year, we will see the completion of our enhanced security front entrance project, hopefully in time for our first day with students. This new entrance will provide a secure separation between visitors to our building and members of the Lumberjack Family. The project also includes updates to our Attendance Office, along with enhanced safety and security features associated with our main entrance.
The completion of this project marks the first of several exciting upgrades to our building. During late winter and early spring of 2027, construction will begin on new classroom spaces. Our Art and Business classrooms will be moving to the first floor, and our Music Suite and Family Consumer Science classrooms will undergo a complete renovation. In the following school year, we will begin installing new science classrooms on the third floor. There is much anticipation surrounding these new 21st-century learning spaces.
The start of each school year brings a renewed sense of optimism and hope. The mission of the Lumberjack Family is to support and nurture the goals and aspirations of all our members. I often speak about what it looks and sounds like to be a Lumberjack. As we kick off the 2026-2027 school year, I encourage each of us to lead by example and serve as mentors by being strong, dedicated Lumberjacks.
Just as we did last school year, our main entrance will open at 7:00 AM each school day. Students will remain in the Cafeteria Wing until the breakfast bell rings, releasing them to the main academic areas of the building. Breakfast and lunch will continue to be provided free of charge to all NTHS students.
The faculty and staff at NTHS are excited for your arrival and the beginning of another successful school year. Please enjoy the remaining weeks of summer vacation. Remember that the first day of attendance for all NTHS students is Tuesday, September 8, 2026.
Your Proud Building Principal,
Bradley W. Rowles

New Bell Schedule at NTHS
Late last Spring, Dr. Janese, Assistant Superintendent for Administrative Services, shared an update with the community regarding new bell schedules at each of our district school buildings. The new bell schedules were designed to assist our transportation department with end of the school day pick up. The bell schedule at NTHS has shifted 5-minutes earlier with a new start time of 7:35 AM for first period and a new dismissal time of 2:30 PM.

Distraction Free School Zone
This school year, we will continue to maintain an environment free of internet-enabled devices during the instructional day. Last year, our district communicated with the NTHS community regarding New York State's requirement that all public schools establish, communicate, and implement a distraction-free learning environment from the first bell to the last bell of each school day.
Please review the following reminders:
- Internet-enabled devices must be powered off and secured in a student's assigned locker from 7:35 AM until 2:30 PM.
- Students will have access to three designated locations to make phone calls during the school day:
Main Office
Attendance Office
Student Support Center
- Parents and guardians may contact NTHS at (716) 807-3600 for any student-related needs.
Pardon Our Dust
As we begin the 2026-2027 school year, we are excited to be nearing completion of our remodeled main entrance. We remain hopeful that the entrance will be fully operational by the first day of classes on Tuesday, September 8.
If the project is not completed in time, we will follow the same student drop-off and pick-up procedures that were in place last spring. In that case, our temporary main entrance will be located at Door #13, just beyond the NTHS Library/Media Center. Signage will be posted throughout campus to help guide students, families, and visitors.
I have shared a video below that provides an update on the project traffic flow. I will keep the NTHS community informed and will provide a final update regarding the entrance location prior to the first day of school.
Thank you for your patience and support as we complete this exciting improvement to our campus.
