Hello Navigators,

We ended an amazing week some fantastic celebrations. On Friday morning we celebrated our Leader of the Month with two assemblies and on Friday night we held our Fall Carnival. I so enjoyed visiting with so many of you on Friday!

Our Red Ribbon Week continues tomorrow with the message to choose the right people on your team. Wear your favorite sports jersey or shirt.

We finish Red Ribbon Week on Halloween. Students may wear costumes to school. Please no overly scary costumes, face masks cannot be worn after the parade and please no props such as toys, swords or wands. We will begin the day with a costume parade on the playground. Families are welcome to attend.

Our Apex Fun Run will take place on Thursday 11/2. Apex runs and amazing event and they do a wonderful job helping us raise money for Nichols. The money we earn goes towards student field trips, events and 5th grade camp. Below is the schedule for the Run. Parents are welcome to attend. We will need lots of volunteers to help during the event.

Each year we create a Family Engagement Policy and approve through School Site Council to promote collaboration between home and school. Here is this years policy. Spanish

Through School Site Council we also approve a Home/School Compact outlining the different roles we take to support student learning. Here is the Home/School Compact. Spanish

On Wednesdays we will have Nichols Spirit days. Wear Nichols gear or wear blue!

The BASE PROGRAM provides Before & After School care. If you are interested in enrolling your Child, please contact them through their website.

We are so thrilled with out STEAM program. STEAM stands for Science, technology, engineering, art, and mathematics. We have Ms. Pauels who teaches the STEM parts of STEAM and Ms. Harmon who teaches Art. Check out the STEAM Newsletter for the latest information.

Oceanside Unified School District has partnered with Care Solace to help families in need of mental health support. This services can help quickly find available services. We know there are times when issues come up that need to be resolved. OUSD has created a chain of communication that allows for an efficient resolution process. This is now located on our school’s website under “Our School” called Chain of Communication.
