Superintendent Message
Welcome to the District Update!
First, I want to thank you—our school community—for joining us at the Fall Community Forum on Saturday. The opportunity to engage directly with community members is paramount as we continue on our path toward educational excellence in the District. Your feedback and ideas are important to us, especially as we begin developing our 2027–2032 Strategic Framework.
Next, I am looking forward to tomorrow’s Hands-Only CPR Event at Williamsville South High School. October is Sudden Cardiac Arrest Awareness Month, and we want to empower our school community with the confidence and knowledge to step in and help someone in need.
As many of you know, one of our students experienced sudden cardiac arrest last spring, and there have since been numerous stories across Western New York of individuals facing medical emergencies and needing CPR or an AED. Please join us for this lifesaving training!
Individuals can arrive and participate at any time between 4:30 - 6:30 p.m.
As we have previously shared, several community partners and activities will be available for students and families to enjoy. Please refer to the communication sent via WITS or posted on social media for further details.
I want to commend Williamsville East on an incredible Homecoming Week! The photos featured in our Photos of the Week segment—and shared by Student Board of Education Member Gupta, our East Representative, during his Board update—were wonderful to see.
With the spooky season upon us, the Amherst Police Department is hosting community events for all to enjoy on October 23rd and October 24th. These are great opportunities for our families to dress up, build positive relationships with law enforcement, and enjoy some trick-or-treating in a safe environment. Please refer to the virtual backpack and the newsletter for registration information and event details.
Finally, as many of you have felt, there is a chill in the air as we transition into fall and look ahead to winter. We know the sun can be shining one moment, and freezing rain or snow can arrive the next. We want everyone to stay safe and be prepared for the elements each day.
Please continue to work hard—and stay engaged with your PTA, PTSA, and SEPTSA! Have a great week!
