Spectacular Second Grade News!
Thank you to all of our amazing parent chaperones who joined us on our field trip to the Baltimore Museum of Industry! We truly couldn’t have done it without you. Our scholars had an incredible time, especially during the Kids Cannery experience. They stepped into the roles of workers in an 1883 oyster cannery, where they learned about teamwork, the value of hard work, and even explored some of the unfair conditions people faced in the past. To top it off, each student brought home a can of “oysters” they helped create. It was such a fun and meaningful experience!
Looking ahead to next week, in reading we will focus on the VCCCV syllable spelling pattern. In math, we will continue Topic 13, exploring shapes and their attributes. In science, we will begin Topic 6: Habitats, and in social studies, we will start Lesson 4: Heroes in Science.
We also appreciate your continued support at home in reinforcing our school motto with your scholars: I will respect myself and others, I will opt to be scholarly, I will act responsibly, and I will react with kindness.
Thank you again for your partnership and all that you do to support our classroom!
