MESSAGE FROM THE PRINCIPAL
CHS COMMUNITY,
Although it was a short four-day week, it was packed with positive energy, community connection, and strong support for our students. We held parent-teacher conferences this week, and I loved seeing so many parents so deeply invested in meeting with our teachers to discuss their child's education. Earlier in the week, a team of our students proudly represented Chardon at the Kindness Rally hosted at Mentor High School. To cap off the week on Friday, our football team, cheerleaders, and band members spread Hilltopper Spirit district-wide with visits to CMS, Park, Munson, and CELC. GO GUARDIANS!

OUR FAMILY, OUR HEROS
Chardon Local Schools is preparing a special Veterans Day tribute to honor the brave men and women of our Armed Forces. We invite our students, families, and staff to recognize the military heroes in their lives—whether honoring a parent, grandparent, aunt, uncle, cousin, or extended relative.
If you or your student would like to share a photo and a message of gratitude, please complete the form below. Submitted tributes will be featured across our official district social media channels on Veterans Day and highlighted in upcoming district newsletters.
Submission Deadline: Friday, November 3 at 3:00 PM.
SENIORS - COLLEGE INFORMAITION
COLLEGE APPLICATIONS
If you (your child) plan to apply for college and have not already done these steps, please pay close attention to the following information:
1. The priority deadline for many schools is November 1st. This means the following information needs to be submitted before that date:
- Your application
- Your transcripts
- Letters of Recommendation (if applicable)
- ACT/SAT test scores (if applicable)
**You MUST have your application submitted 1-2 weeks in advance so you have time to make corrections, if needed, and Mrs. Patterson has enough notice to complete your Counselor-Required documents.
2. We recommend students use Common App if they are planning to apply to several schools. It requires an essay, but will save you time in the long run if you are applying to 3 or more colleges.
- Use your PERSONAL email address.
- **Please note, even if you are currently attending a college for CCP, you will still apply as a "First-Year Student."
3. Please see the attached directions for detailed information on how to request:
- Transcripts (through SchooLinks)
- Letters of Recommendations (through SchooLinks)
- ACT/SAT Scores
- **Note: Your ACT/SAT scores are on your transcripts. If you do NOT want me to include them, you MUST tell me (Mrs. Patterson) before you submit your applications.
Helpful information (including screenshots of SchooLinks steps) can be found in this 2026-2027 College Senior Presentation.
