Volume 5/Issue 12 - October 24th, 2025

Who do you represent each day?

The journey from a single thought/goal to destiny doesn't begin with a social media announcement, but with how we choose to act in the smallest, most daily of moments. Our daily behavior; the simple choice to be kind in our hallways, to persevere through a difficult situations, or to speak respectfully to a colleague or in public to others; is never a neutral event; it is a clear statement of character. Every action we take, from the classroom to the coffee shop, becomes a vital part of the always evolving narrative of who we are as SRC.

I encourage everyone—students, staff, and our supportive patrons—to recognize the power that we all posses with this. By leading with integrity and a clear sense of purpose, we ensure our personal and collective actions truly represent the high standard, school spirit, and powerful future of our communities.

✨Presidential Awards for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching (PAEMST)✨

Congratulations goes to our own Becky Schueth who has been named a State Finalist for this award!

This is the highest honors bestowed by the United States government specifically for K-12 science, technology, engineering, mathematics, and/or computer science teaching. Awards are given to science, technology, engineering, mathematics, and/or computer science teachers who have both deep content knowledge of the subjects they teach and the ability to motivate and enable students to be successful in those areas.

Mrs. Schueth is currently teaching high school mathematics here at SRC. This is her 11th year at S-RC and I teach Geometry, Technical Math, College Algebra, PreCalculus and Calculus. Becky has 20 years of experience in teaching and she began her career at Columbus High School. Mrs. Schueth Bachelor’s (2005) and Master’s (2009) degrees are from Wayne State College. She enjoys sharing her excitement for math with her students each day!

When you see her, please make sure you congratulate her on this incredible achievement! We are all proud and rooting for you!

    Message from Mr. Tejkl

We represent ourselves in every moment...

    Good morning!

I hope you enjoyed your extended weekend and are ready to close out the month of October! We are flying through and preparing to close out our fall activities (after a longer run) and prepare for our winter activities on deck! There are a lot of exciting times around us and I can't wait to see us continue to raise our expectations and strive to exceed our standards!

SRC is more than a building; it is a community defined by its people. In last week's message, we shared the concept that our actions evolve into our character, and our character ultimately defines our destiny. This week, we explore what that means for every member of our community, without exception.

One of our pillars representing SRC is integrity. This isn't a complex ideal—it is the simple, daily choice to do the right thing, even when it is difficult or inconvenient. For all of us, integrity is demonstrated through the consistency of our effort, the honesty of our words, and the commitment we show to fairness and respect in every interaction. Whether you are leading a classroom, coaching/participating in activities, studying for an exam, or advocating for our mission in our communities, your conduct is a clear and public statement of the values we share.

Every action, positive or negative, contributes to the climate of our school. We are all responsible, and our behavior sets the standard for the entire environment. When we model patience, empathy, and professionalism, we are actively constructing a supportive culture. When we show passion for learning and dedication to excellence, we inspire those around us. This collective effort is what transforms our environment from a place where we gather into a culture where we all thrive.

To truly represent SRC is to take OWNERSHIP of its reputation and its success. This means approaching every challenge and opportunity with a sense of purpose. We must hold ourselves accountable not just for our intentions, but for the impact of our actions on others and on our lasting legacy. By leading with deliberate effort, positive intentions, and unwavering respect, we ensure that our shared conduct reflects the strength and high standards we all want the world to see. This is determined by the character we collectively demonstrate today and into tomorrow!

Have a great rest of your Sunday!

Quote of the week to reflect on:

"Watch your thoughts, for they become words. Watch your words, for they become actions. Watch your actions, for they become habits. Watch your habits, for they become character. Watch your character, for it becomes your destiny."

    Will Bowen

    Sincerely,

    Tucker Tejkl
