April 6: Bike and Instrument Drive Sponsored by Tri-M

Please donate bikes or musical instruments to the Bike and Instrument Drive this Saturday, April 6 from 9-12 in the parking lot. Bikes and instruments will be repaired/refurbished and then donated to students in need. This event is sponsored by Tri-M Music Honor Society.

April 8: Solar Eclipse Viewing

On Monday, April 8, all of North America will experience an eclipse of the sun. A solar eclipse occurs when the moon blocks any part of the sun. This will be the first time since 2017 a solar eclipse will be visible on a path across the entire continental United States. The partial solar eclipse will begin at 12:51 PM, with the maximum eclipse happening at 2:07 PM where 93% of the sun will be blocked.

To participate in this rare scientific event, our school has organized a structured, supervised viewing opportunity for students. Safety during the eclipse viewing is our top priority. Because parts of the sun will still be visible, we are providing solar eclipse glasses that must be worn outside at all times. Students and staff will be required to wear solar glasses during the structured activity. There will be signs at all doors warning the students of the eclipse for their protection. Other measures will be put in place as necessary to ensure student and staff safety.

Weather permitting, the bell schedule will be as follows:

1st: 7:30-8:12

2nd: 8:17-8:59

3rd: 9:04-9:46

4th: 9:51-10:34

5th: 10:39-11:22

6th: 11:27-12:10

7th: 12:15-12:58

8th: 1:03-1:45

Eclipse event: 1:45-2:45

If the weather does not cooperate, we will follow a normal 50-minute bell schedule. The decision will be made around 7:30 AM and will be communicated to all students and families as to which schedule we will follow.
