Principal's Message

We hope all of you had a healthy and relaxing holiday break. We are happy to say WELCOME BACK TO SCHOOL Lightning Bugs! We start this year 2022 still with the pandemic, it continues to present numerous challenges to schools but at Garcia-Leza we will continue to do our best to finish the school year successfully. We are excited to have you back with us for the second semester of the school year. It is important to keep students safe. The district is continuing that all students and staff are required to wear masks on campus. I would like to take this opportunity to thank parents, students, and staff for the way in which this community has come together and supported each other through this difficult time! We will continue to follow the CDC guidelines and district procedures. Together we will help our students to finish this school year very successfully, they will be ready for the next grade level.

Thank you!

Patricia Willis, Principal

Counselor's Corner

Hello Parents, and Happy New Year!

Having hectic schedules can keep you so busy and drain your energy that you often forget to take care of yourself physically and emotionally. Please take a moment to stop and think about what you need to do to enable you to perform at your very best.

Regular self-care can improve your well-being and self-esteem. It also increases the resiliency that you need to help bounce back when problems come up in your life. What can you do?

Please click on the link below, this is a great article from Mental Health America (MHA) about Taking Good Care Of Yourself.

Please Staff/Parents - if you or your child haven't been vaccinated or haven't gotten your booster shot, “DO NOT WAIT”, get this injection immediately, as soon as possible.

Parents remember all students must have up-to-date immunizations in order to return to school. Up to date immunizations are mandatory by the “State Of Texas”.
