MESSAGE FROM PRINCIPAL BANKS
Greetings Lindblom MSA Eagles,
We are heading into week 4 and our Eagles are leading, contributing, and representing Lindblom beyond our classrooms, across the city, and all the way to Kentucky. Battalion Commander, Lt. Col. Breanna Bunch (SW27P) shared that our JROTC “motto represents our school and the strength of our program. Our JROTC program is the heartbeat of our school.” From student-led fitness to competitions, our JROTC Eagle battalion embodies our #BeLeaders pillar.
This weekend, our Robotics team hosted a kickoff event for the annual First Robotics Competition (FRC) and unveiled the BIOBIZZ tech challenge. CPS Robotics teams and enthusiasts from all over our city came to our school to engage in workshops hosted by high school students and industry professionals. Teamwork, communication, networking, mentoring, creativity, and gracious professionalism were at the core of every session. It’s so rewarding to witness our students contributing to our #BeSupportive school culture through their leadership and actions. Shout out to Mr. Anaya, Mr. DeRonne, Ms. Bowns-Kamphius for sponsoring the event, and to Officer Shinaul, Officer Evans, Officer Cohill, and Mr. Alexander for their support.
Last but not least, our choir performed beautifully at the Chicago Classic football game under the direction of Mrs. Champion. Thank you to our student-athletes, coaching staff, and parents who represented Lindblom MSA and our #BeEngaged pillar this weekend.
These moments remind us that excellence is more than what happens in our classrooms; it is how our Eagles show up, lead, engage, and represent our school community wherever they go.
Together, we strive for excellence,
Principal Banks
~Swoop, swoop
Hispanic Heritage Month begins September 15, and we honor and celebrate the histories, cultures, languages, traditions, and contributions that enrich our school community. This year’s theme, “Unidos, Somos Más,” meaning “Together, We Are More,” reminds us that our strength is found in what we build together. This sentiment lives in our Be”Lief Pillars and our CIWP priorities: cultivating belonging and embracing our collective responsibility to ensure every Eagle is seen, valued, challenged, and supported to rise and soar.

Student Fee - Parent/Guardian Communication
Student Fees via the Aspen Parent Portal
As we begin the SY26-27 school year, CPS is ensuring that all student fees are managed online through the Aspen Parent Portal, which is aligned with our District’s standard fee list. While Aspen is already familiar to many families, using it as our centralized hub for fee management will make payments significantly more convenient and transparent for everyone.
Benefits of Managing Fees in Aspen
One Central Hub: View, track, and pay for student fees—from instructional materials to class activities—in a single, secure account.
Full Transparency: Access itemized fees and payment histories at any time, eliminating paper notices and lost receipts.
Secure Payment Access Anytime: Pay online anytime using credit, debit, or e-check so you do not have to send cash or physical checks to school with your student or make a trip to the main office.
Instant Confirmation: Receive immediate digital receipts for your records as soon as a payment is processed.
Transparent Fee Waivers: Easily verify if a fee waiver has been applied to your student's account.
What You Need to Do
Learn more: Visit the CPS Parent and Student Portal Page to explore Aspen features and resources.
Log In: Access your Aspen Parent Portal account.
Review Your Fees: Select your student and check the Fees tab to view active items for the current school year.
Pay Online: Instructions on making an online payment.
Need Account Access? If you do not have an active portal login or need assistance, please reach out to your school.
Thank you for your partnership as we use these tools to make the school year smoother and more convenient for your family!

BE EMPOWERED
What Are You Learning?
Students,
Please give the CBE team some information about transparency of learning. We would like to have some student voice to power our planning efforts. As mentioned in the school day announcements over the PA system, HERE is the survey that we're asking you to complete. The first 100 students who complete the survey will be incentivized during lunch on Wednesday, September 16.
After School Programs
After school programming funded by Envision Community Services will begin the week of 9/21. All families will need to complete a paper registration form prior to their student starting programming. This paperwork is a requirement for the grant that is funding the after school programming. Registration forms will be distributed during advisory on Wednesday, 9/16. Completed forms should be returned to the main office. See here for a list of after school programs that will begin on Monday, 9/21.
