Week of January 26, 2025 - February 1, 2025
Greetings from Principal
Dear Prep Families,
As we enter the fourth week of the semester, we are excited to see our scholars returning to the supportive and structured environment here at Collegiate Prep Elementary. This new year provides a great chance to strengthen resilience, reinforce routines, and build a mindset ready to face challenges. Together, we’ll ensure that each scholar has the tools they need to thrive both academically and socially.
Important Updates for the Week:
- Bad Weather Makeup Day: Please be aware that Friday, April 18, 2025, will be a designated makeup day for instructional time lost due to bad weather. All scholars are expected to attend school on this day to maintain the continuity of instruction. Be sure to mark your calendars.
- Classroom Routines and Expectations: This week, our focus will be on reestablishing strong routines and expectations to set a positive tone for the semester. We encourage families to talk with their scholars about the importance of punctuality, preparedness, and active participation in learning.
- Upcoming Assessments and STAAR Preparation: As we prepare for upcoming standardized tests, our teachers will be working hard to provide targeted instruction and support. Families can help by ensuring regular attendance, reviewing study materials at home, and encouraging a positive approach to learning.
- After-School Programs and Tutoring: Starting in February, after-school tutoring will be available for 3rd-5th grade scholars. These programs are designed to offer extra support and enrichment. We will share details on schedules and enrollment soon through our regular communication channels.
We remain dedicated to creating a safe, nurturing environment where every scholar has the opportunity to succeed. Together, let’s make this semester a reflection of perseverance and teamwork. We look forward to partnering with you on this journey.
If you have any questions or need additional information, please feel free to reach out to our office.
Sincerely,
Principal Davis

Parking Lot Safety Reminders
Safety is our top priority, and we are committed to ensuring that every scholar arrives on campus safely each day. As part of this effort, we would like to remind you of the important safety practices for morning drop-off in our carline.
Carline Safety Practices:
Drop-off in Designated Areas Only: Please use the carline to drop off your scholar. This ensures that they are monitored as they safely enter the building.
Avoid Parking Lot Drop-offs: The main parking lot is for staff parking and is not supervised for student drop-offs. Cars frequently drive through this area, creating potential safety hazards for scholars.
Avoid Street Drop-offs: Dropping off scholars in the street creates significant safety risks. While we monitor crossing areas near the carline, we cannot ensure your scholar’s safety when they are dropped off in other areas.
We kindly request your compliance with these guidelines to maintain the safety and efficiency of our drop-off process. Please know that our carline moves quickly, and staff members are present to assist scholars as they arrive on campus.
Your understanding and support in adhering to these procedures play a vital role in keeping our Longhorns safe. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact the front office.
Social Media Expectations
Ongoing reminder about Social Media Post
Over all breaks, we encourage parents to check their child’s social media accounts and stay aware of their online interactions. If you notice anything alarming or concerning, please inform the school immediately so we can address it appropriately.
We are committed to maintaining a secure environment where every child feels safe both physically and mentally. Our team is dedicated to ensuring that all students return home safe and sound each day. Thank you for your trust and partnership as we work together to protect the well-being of our school community.
