Principal's Survey Principal's Survey

It has been such a pleasure to serve as your principal this year at Wessagusset.

I am inviting you to share your thoughts and experiences about my performance in this new role. The first part of the year has been a time of learning for me, getting to know our students, families, and the processes here at Wessagusset and in Weymouth.

Your perspective, as a valued member of our school community, is important to me. Your feedback will help me better understand what is working well and where I can continue to grow in order to best support our students, staff, and families.

The survey includes questions about communication, leadership, school climate, and overall impressions. All responses are anonymous and will be reviewed collectively to identify strengths and opportunities for growth in my practice. I truly welcome both positive and constructive feedback.

Thank you for taking the time to share your voice and for your continued partnership in supporting our school community.

Grade 5 Residency Verification

This fall the Weymouth School Committee updated Policy JF: School Admissions to require a verification of residency for students in Grade 5. Families of students in Grade 5 will need to re-establish residency in Weymouth before transitioning to the Maria Weston Chapman Middle School next year. This procedure will enable our district to maintain accurate residency and registration data while confirming continued enrollment eligibility. More information can be found here: Gr. 5 Residency Verification

Required proof of residency documents must be submitted between January 12, 2026, and May 29, 2026. Failure to complete residency verification by May 29, 2026 may affect your child’s enrollment, and they may not have a schedule or be able to participate in school activities at the start of the 2026-2027 school year.

February 1, 2026

Dear Wessagusset Families,

A big CONGRATULATIONS to our Wessagusset students for earning an All-School Reward at Friday’s meeting - Cozy PJ Day on Wednesday, February 4th! Students and staff are invited to wear their coziest pajamas to school. Please remember that students should wear their regular footwear and leave slippers and house shoes at home.

During our All-School Meeting, we also celebrated our ST Math Champions with a fun New Year’s countdown by dropping a “New Year’s Ball” filled with student names! Students cheered on their teachers during a lively Minute to Win It challenge. Fun was had by all!

Snow Reminders

Thank you for your patience as we navigated the recent snowstorm and cleanup. A few important reminders:

  • Please do not allow students to play on the snow mounds during arrival and dismissal. We ask students to stay out of the snow to prevent getting wet or injured.

  • Buses may run behind schedule due to narrowed roadways after storms. We will send a text message if a bus has not arrived by 3:25 PM.

  • Parking remains limited due to snow piles. Families may park at the beach parking lot or at O’Sullivan Park. Please avoid staff parking areas near the building.

Valentines Day

Valentine’s Day is approaching! Your child’s teacher will share more details about their Valentine plan soon. Here are a couple of things to consider in your family planning.

  • Cards may be homemade or store-bought.

  • No candy or food items are allowed due to food allergies.

You can review the district policy here: JLDD: Life Threatening Allergies

iPhones & Smart Watches

We understand that some students carry phones or smart watches for family communication. Please remind students that these devices must be powered off and kept in backpacks during the school day. We have noticed an increase in devices being left on during school hours and appreciate your partnership in reinforcing this expectation.

Have a wonderful week!

Kind regards,

Mrs. Jango, Principal

Mrs. Reinhart, Assistant Principal
