MES Community Commitment - We Are a School Family!
We held our first Community Gathering of the 2025-2026 school year this week. Students and staff have committed to building strong, positive relationships with every member of our school family.
What students can do to help build our school family:
- Show respect. Greet others with a friendly smile and a warm hello.
- Be kind. Look for ways to support your classmates and teachers.
Some ways MES builds our school family:
- Holding regular Community Gatherings.
- Greeting each other at the start of each day.
- Saying goodbye at the end of the day.
- Reciting the Mustang Pledge daily, committing to do our best.
- Valuing everyone in our school family—from students and parents to teachers, support staff, and bus drivers.
Attendance Spirit Week is September 15-18!
Be sure to check out the flyer in this newsletter for all the details. We can't wait to see your school spirit!
Getting into the habit of daily attendance is more important than ever. It helps to:
● reduce stress
● make it easier to connect with friends and teachers
● support learning
● Please contact Ms. Stephanie Hall if you need help with attendance. shall@smcps.org
We are working to make our school environment a place where everyone can be safe, healthy, and learn. We will do our best to listen and partner with you so that our children have a successful year. Do not hesitate to reach out to our staff with questions or concerns.

Torian (not pictured) went out of his way to clean up someone else's water spill by the water fountain. He kept the hallways safe so no one slipped in the water.
Kinsli took the time to care about a classmate who looked really sad and was sitting alone at recess. Her classmate felt better after you talked to her and joined in playing at recess! Well done, Kinsli!!!
