Johayliz Millan Mercado
Johayliz, a proud member of Team 1, is a kind and nice student who consistently brings a positive attitude to school each day. She enjoys spending her time engaged in math and reading, which are also among her favorite school subjects, along with library time, because they help her learn and grow academically. In the short term, Johayliz’s goal is to be a good student, and she works hard toward her long-term goal of completing all of her work and earning all A’s. Outside of class, she enjoys reading comic books and graphic novels, which keeps her motivated and excited about learning. Johayliz is inspired by Mr. Lucas, Mr. Reyes, and Ms. Donoff, as they encourage her and support her growth both academically and personally.
Marques Quinones
Marques is a tall, funny, smart, confident, and determined student who brings great energy and focus to everything he does. He enjoys staying active by playing basketball and football, and he also likes playing Angry Birds and making beats on GarageBand, which shows his creativity. One of Marques’s short-term goals is to score 10 points in a basketball game and bench 130 pounds, while his long-term goals include benching 185 pounds and playing basketball through high school, starting in 9th grade. He is currently reading Harry Potter, which keeps him engaged and interested in reading. Marques’s favorite subject is Social Studies because he enjoys the class and finds the teacher funny and engaging. He is inspired by Ms. Brunelli because her teaching style matches his learning style and helps him succeed in the classroom
