Gonzaga Student Council’s Clothing Order Fundraiser
The Student Council is engaging in their annual fundraiser again this year with their clothing order. The official Gonzaga Merchandise Store is now open at the following link: https://gonzagahighschool.itemorder.com/ . Students and families will be able to go online to choose and pay for their clothes/items from today until Monday, October 26th at 11:59 pm. THERE WILL BE NO ORDERS PROCESSED AFTER THIS DEADLINE.
If students/families miss this deadline, they will have to wait until our next online order which will happen in the winter sometime. All graduation hoodies/items will be on this order and the next in the winter/spring. All Grade 12 students are asked to verify their names on the sheet outside of Mr. Cluney's office. Any changes to any names must be brought forward to the secretaries no later than Friday, October 16th, 2026.
All clothing items purchased during this order will be delivered to students here at Gonzaga prior to the Christmas Break. This is a great opportunity to pick up some Gonzaga swag for the whole family and to help support the Gonzaga Student Council initiatives this year. They will make great gifts for the holidays!
Technology Agreement and Media Consent Forms
Gonzaga will be using the NLSchools RYCOR system to be able to make forms available to be completed online by parents.
We are asking all parents to complete the two following forms online through the Rycor system for each child:
Acceptable Use of Technology Form 26/27
Media Consent Form 26/27
Parents must use their own Parent PowerSchool account and not their child’s PowerSchool account in order to complete the online forms. We are asking that these two form be complete no later than Friday, October 16, 2026.
For more information on this system please go here.
School Council Representatives
If there are any parents who may be interested in becoming part of our School Council, please email Mr. Cluney at andrewcluney@nlschools.ca.
We will be having our first meeting before the end of October.

PowerSchool Assessments
As the school year is getting underway, you will notice that students are completing various forms of assessments which are showing up in their PowerSchool. As each course has a different course descriptor and evaluation percentages, it is important to know that grades may fluctuate throughout the semester as new assessments and units are added. We ask parents to monitor their child’s progress through their Parent PowerSchool account and click on each of their grades to see specifically where their overall grade is coming from. Each assessment completed to date will be listed there. If you have any questions regarding any assessment, please contact your child’s subject teacher.
Mid-Term Exams
We will be having 15% midterm exams from Thursday, November 12th - Wednesday, November 18th, 2026. Classes will not continue during this week as exams are at least 2 hours in length. A copy of the schedule will be released next week. Classes will resume on Thursday, November 19th and it will be Day 2 on the schedule.
Graduation Photos
Grade 12 graduation photos are booked for the week of November 30th - December 4th, 2026. LifeTouch will assign photo times for each students and students will be able to see their individual times on the poster outside of Mr. Cluney's office in the coming weeks. All students must bring in their $25.00 sitting fee at the time of their appointment. The fee can be paid by cash, cheque, credit or debit. All cheques can be made out to LifeTouch.

All staff, students, and visitors are reminded to not wear or use any scented/fragranced products while inside any NL Schools building.
Loran Scholarship
Please note, the Loran Scholarship deadline is October 15th, 2026 at noon ET. Applications are available online here and if you have any questions, please contact Mrs. Tracy Gardiner at tracyanngardiner@nlesd.ca.
Grade 12 Career Hours
We have over a third of our graduating class who have not completed their volunteer hours or handed in their volunteer hours sheet to the office. ALL students must complete these hours in order to graduate. We encourage all students, especially Grade 12 students, to make sure that their hours are completed. If you are looking for hours, many volunteer hours can be completed here at school. Please see our guidance counsellors or our athletic department to find hours.
Athletics
We are working hard to schedule all tryouts and will be announcing tryouts and sign ups according to the sport competitions schedules. Thank you for your patience while we work through all the teams and practice location bookings. Interested athletes must sign up using the link in the bio of our social media accounts in order to attend tryouts https://linktr.ee/gonzagaathletics. Stay tuned to our social media for all athletic updates!
