WELCOME BACK!

We are excited to welcome everyone back to Kenmore East for the 25-26 school year. This year brings us some big changes to the building, starting with the new exterior colors which show off our school spirit in blue and gold. Other work from the summer includes the installation of field lights, pouring concrete to assist with winter access on Fries Rd., and fixing our roof.

The big questions many of you have will be about our cell phone policy due to the new Distraction Free Schools law. KE will be providing information to our students on opening days, but we have put together an excellent list of resources for you. Please review them as a family.

  • Check out our District Distraction Free Schools website. This will give you all of the information you need including a FAQ section.
  • We recommend viewing our Superintendent's Town Hall video.
  • This is how you can message your child during the school day using Canvas.

New York State Board of Regents has adopted the New York State Portrait of a Graduate. We will be updating you throughout the year how this and the NY Inspires Plan (Blue Ribbon Commission) will have changes coming to graduation and other high school requirements.

Some families will see changes to our science classes as well. New York State is transitioning its high school science Regents exams to align with the New York State Science Learning Standards (NYSSLS), which are based on the Next Generation Science Standards. The traditional Regents Earth Science exam is being replaced with Regents Earth and Space Science, emphasizing three-dimensional learning that integrates disciplinary core ideas, science and engineering practices, and crosscutting concepts. Similarly, the Regents Living Environment exam is shifting to Regents Biology, broadening its focus to include modern biological concepts, data analysis, and real-world applications. These changes aim to promote deeper understanding, critical thinking, and hands-on scientific investigation rather than memorization.

Finally, we are pleased to announce that Kenmore East was recognized as a New York State Public High School Athletic Association School of Excellence. To receive this recognition, at least 75% of our varsity teams must have been awarded. Congratulations to our scholar-athletes!

New Name, Same Great Administrator

Ms. Carriero is now Mrs. Dzielski!

Congratulations to Mrs. Dzielski on her marriage. You will notice the name change on email and school document but she is still the same great administrator you knew last year!

Counseling Department

As we begin a new school year, the Counseling Department at Kenmore East is excited to welcome your students back—and for some, to welcome them for the very first time! The start of a new school year often brings a wide range of emotions for students—excitement, nervousness, curiosity, and sometimes uncertainty. Please know that our counseling office is here to support them every step of the way. Our team is committed to creating a safe, welcoming environment where all students can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. We are proud to be part of a school community that values connection, growth, and student well-being. Throughout the year, we’ll be offering resources, guidance lessons, college and career support, and opportunities for students to build skills that will serve them both now and in the future.

Schedules will be available on Infinite Campus Tuesday, August 26th.

An email will be sent out to all students if there are any errors in their schedules and a form will be given to fill out. Each year we do our best to accommodate these requests but cannot always guarantee them due to master scheduling, staffing considerations and your child’s final grades. June 1st was the deadline for change requests, as we can not honor any schedule changes.

Please don’t hesitate to reach out if you have questions or if your student needs support. We’re here to help and look forward to partnering with you for a successful year ahead!
