3 Year Old Preschool

We are off to a great start in 3-year-old preschool. The children have been working hard to strengthen their fine motor muscles in their wrists and hands. They have been busy painting, using spoons to eat their snacks, scooping and packing kinetic sand, squeezing glue bottles, cutting with scissors and using whiteboards to practice making marks. We notice our hands becoming stronger and stronger as we learn to do more on our own.

Kindergarten Readiness

Readiness has had a great first month of school! We have enjoyed getting to know our class family. We had visits from our county Naturalist and the public librarian. We visit Mrs. Gloede in our school library each week. We have also enjoyed exploring the wildflower garden during recess. Thanks to Farm Credit Services of America for the grant to help with our garden!

4 Year Old Preschool

Miss Kaitlin’s came to the classroom to visit and discuss seeds! She taught us about different seeds, how seeds travel, and how different seeds feel. We then started exploring in our garden area at outdoor play!

1st Grade

This month our students had the opportunity to take part in Farm Safety Day, a hands-on learning experience focused on teaching kids how to stay safe around farms and rural environments. Students rotated through stations led by local experts.

The day provided both fun and practical lessons, helping students understand the importance of caution and responsibility while on or near farms.

A special thank you goes out to our community volunteers, local farmers, and emergency personnel who made the day possible. Their time and expertise ensured that students left with valuable safety skills and a greater appreciation for the importance of farm safety.

Kindergarten

Our kindergarteners have had a busy and exciting month! They proudly created their own kindergarten shirts, showing off their creativity and school spirit. Students also enjoyed exploring classic nursery rhymes, building early literacy skills while having fun with rhythm, rhyme, and storytelling. It’s been a joyful start filled with hands-on learning and lots of smiles!

Second Grade

Second graders also recently took part in Farm Safety Day, a hands-on event designed to teach important safety skills in a fun and memorable way.

The experience gave children the chance to learn directly from local experts, ask questions, and practice safe habits they can use both on and off the farm. Thanks to the support of our community partners and volunteers, the day was not only educational but also an exciting opportunity for students to connect learning with real-life experiences.
