e-Tip: Celebrate Spring Growth
Talk with your child about how far they’ve come since the school year began. Growth happens in many ways—academics, friendships, and confidence!
The Dawg Dispatch is our weekly snapshot of life as a Bulldawg, straight facts, clear wins, and what’s next, so families and staff can pull in the same direction. It reflects our mission:
“The mission of the Aberdeen School District is to inspire ALL students to become problem-solvers, lifelong learners, and productive members of society.”

BSMS Scholars Demonstrate Growth and Collaboration
Ms. Ridings’ class focused on concentration and properties during today’s lesson. During the classroom observation, students took ownership of their learning by teaching one another and supporting peers who needed help finding the correct answers.
Students proudly recognized their hard work this year by giving themselves a round of applause, a moment that reflected both growth and confidence. Their efforts did not go unnoticed, as district staff also recognized the progress being made in the classroom.
Great job, BSMS scholars! Keep pushing forward.
"Just believe in yourself. Even if you don’t, pretend that you do and, at some point, you will."

Wellness Wednesdays in Ms. Jackson’s Class
In Ms. Jackson’s class, Wednesdays are set aside for coloring or journaling. These activities are more than just creative time; they provide students with an opportunity to relax, reflect, and refocus. Research in psychology shows that practices like coloring and journaling can help reduce stress and improve concentration.
We’re proud to share a glimpse of what our students were doing this Wednesday as they took time to reset and prepare for continued learning.
BSMS Scholars Compete at 2026 TSA State Competition

Congratulations to Aidyn Hazzle and Quanton Walker for earning 2nd place in MedicalTechnology Issues. The next stop is the TSA National Convention in Washington, D.C. Aidyn also earned 2nd place in Promotional Marketing.
We are proud of our Bulldawgs as they showcase their skills, creativity, and dedication on the state level!
AHS Aviation Academy Student Reaches New Heights
One of our students in the Aberdeen High School Aviation Academy achieved a major milestone by completing her first solo flight at the Monroe County Airport in the district’s Piper Cherokee 140 aircraft.
Senior Lopez became the first student in the program’s history to complete a solo flight, an accomplishment that reflects both skill and determination. This is a moment few individuals experience, and it speaks volumes about her dedication and hard work.
We are proud of our scholar for rising to the occasion and representing Aberdeen with excellence. We also extend our appreciation to our flight instructors who continue to challenge and prepare our students for success.
Congratulations! The sky is just the beginning.
Pathways Club Inspired by Community Leaders
Mr. Bruce Smith, Phi Beta Sigma President, and Mr. R. Frank Nicholas, retired Chief of Police of Starkville, MS and member of Phi Beta Sigma, recently served as guest speakers for members of the Pathways Club, along with several students from Aberdeen High School.
During their visit, both men delivered an inspiring and heartfelt message focused on navigating life’s challenges and embracing the journey to adulthood. Drawing from their extensive experience in law enforcement, military service, and leadership, they encouraged students to remain disciplined, make wise decisions, and stay committed to their goals. Their words motivated students to approach their futures with confidence, resilience, and a strong sense of purpose.
The Pathways Club is a group of young men, primarily 9th graders, dedicated to promoting positive outcomes and preparing its members for a successful future.
