Annual Library Report
Sherrard CUSD #200: 2024-2025
Library Program Highlights from the Year
High School Lunch Programs
The Teen Advisory Board at the high school increased its membership, and had a great year planning engaging programs. We had Star War's Trivia and Disney Trivia programs, Halloween Bingo, Two days to relax before finals started, and several craft programs!
State Reading Programs throughout the District
- After having some interest from the grade schools about the Monarch program, we supported that program at Sherrard Elementary and Winola Elementary. Library aides Susan Bosold and Karen Millichamp read all the books during library time, and students in K-3 got to vote! (4th grade also voted for the school total).
- Matherville had 62 students participate in the Caudill Award, and the junior high had 22 students vote, after not having enough students to vote for several years. Students have to read at least three books from a list of twenty to participate.
- We also support the Lincoln Award at the High School.
High School Library Usage
In addition to students coming to the library with classes, we also welcomed 1,668 students in throughout the year for a variety of purposes.

Data From Around the District
Circulation and Database Usage
- Our library print circulation numbers are down slightly this year, at the high school and Winola, but the high school library did have to close several times throughout the year, and Winola didn't have an aide for the first month. Circulation numbers are up at Sherrard Grade and Matherville!
- I processed 1,141 books for the district libraries this year.
- Our Capstone usage is down this year, but our other databases have increased their numbers.
- The state added quite a few Ebsco products as well, and we saw usage across several of those resources.
Goals for the Future
- To survey staff about database usage support
- To have more regular meetings with library staff
- To resume regular weeding
- To continue developing library opportunities for students
