This Spring Break was no vacation for our Hobart Chess Team! On Saturday, March 23, sixteen of our brilliant Hobart Middle School and Hobart High School Chess members took on the challenge at the Scholastic Chess Of Indiana Team State tournament.

Imagine this: 5 rounds of intense competition, hours of strategic gameplay, and nerves of steel—our teams did it all! And guess what? It was a historic year for our Brickies! For the first time ever, all four of our Hobart Teams that made it to State brought home some serious hardware! The top 10 teams of the state were awarded with trophies. In this battleground of minds, where Indiana's best go head-to-head, our Brickies stood tall! Here's how they conquered:

High School Division: 10th place out of 23 teams!

Middle School 8th Grade and Under Division: 8th and 10th place out of 22 teams!

6th Grade Division: A phenomenal 9th place out of a whopping 42 teams!

Let's give it up for our incredible Brickies, who not only battled fiercely on the boards but also displayed outstanding sportsmanship and grit throughout the day! Congratulations to our chess champs! Way to Be Excellent On Purpose!
