GREAT NEWS from around the District
Elementary:
- Thanks to the FOCUS Grant, Mr. Curtis was able to start the REMC Growing Minds program to bring a hydroponic growing system into our curriculum! Students had the opportunity to grow and taste-test their own plants while learning through hands-on experiences. We’re excited for the chance to participate again next year! We are so proud of Mr. Curtis and his little Broncos!
- We have had such an amazing end of the year with all of the educational field trips. We appreciate everyone who made this possible for our students.
- Thank you to all of our families who signed up for summer school learning. We are so excited to kick off summer fun with a splash of learning!
Jr/Sr:
- Thank you to our NHS students for hosting the Senior breakfast before they did the march through the hallways. It is such a bitter sweet time of year.
- Our 8th graders had a blast this week designing, building, and launching pop bottle rockets! Hands-on learning brought science concepts to life while students tested creativity, teamwork, and engineering skills.
- On Thursday the Bronco High School Band kicked off the Battle Jacks game with the Star Spangled Banner. Later, they brought pep through the 5th-7th innings with fantastic renditions of Bad Romance, Seven Nation Army (for the seventh inning stretch), and the upbeat sounds of Shut up and Dance with Me. The band students were accompanied by the entire 7th-11th grade student body. It was a fantastic opportunity for our students to showcase their talents for Education Day for other local Battle Creek area schools and their fellow classmates.

- Thank you for helping us send off our 5 amazing female athletes headed to the Track State Championship! Good luck, Kayla Boyd, Paisley Smith, Scarlett Owen, RyAnn Goodrich, and Emily Murphy! We are cheering you on every "step" of the way!
On Friday, May 22nd, the high school band traveled to Sandusky, Ohio to attend the Trills and Thrills Festival. The students delivered a phenomenal performance and earned the highest rating possible: Superior! We are so proud of you!
- We want to recognize the nominations for our Unsung Hero initiative to recognize those who constantly go above and beyond for our students, staff, and district. You make a difference. Thank you for being you and impact the youth of Bellevue Community Schools: Justin Robbins and Joshua Steele!
Superintendent Message
As we wrap up another great week together, I want to take a moment to thank our students, staff, and families for the support and pride you continue to bring to our schools each day. This time of year is always busy, but it is also rewarding as we celebrate growth, accomplishments, and the many moments that make our school community special.
With just one more week remaining in the school year, there is still much to look forward to. Classrooms remain active, students are finishing strong, and our staff continues to provide outstanding support and encouragement all the way to the finish line.
This weekend, we are also excited to celebrate graduation and honor the Class of 2026. Graduation is always a special milestone for our students, families, staff, and community. It is a time to reflect on the memories, achievements, and growth that have brought our seniors to this moment, while also looking ahead to the opportunities that await them. We are incredibly proud of this group of graduates and all they have accomplished during their time at Bellevue.
As we head into our final week, let’s continue to finish the year. Thank you for all you do to make our schools such a special place for kids and families.
Have a wonderful weekend, congratulations to the Class of 2026, and let’s make this last week a great one together!
