Principal's Update
Dear Parkview Families,
The incident at Silver Rail Elementary in Bend, Oregon, has been weighing heavily on our hearts. When something like this happens, it’s natural for students and families to have questions or feel unsettled. Please know that we have safety protocols in place at Parkview, and we practice drills in calm, age-appropriate ways to help students feel prepared and supported. If you or your child would like to talk with a mental health professional, we can help connect you with support through our school. Please reach out to the office.
Over the weekend, I was reminded of how much it matters to look out for one another: “See Something, Say Something.” If you notice anything unusual or concerning around school, please let us know by contacting the office. Outside of school hours, you can use the anonymous tip button on our website. Tips go directly to me and our district safety team. Thank you for being our partners in keeping Parkview safe. We are strongest together.
We’re looking forward to welcoming you to our Harvest Festival this Friday, October 23, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m.! There will be plenty of fall fun, including Flames of Fall, carnival games, music from our very own Parktastics band, the Swish Mobile, face painting, a photo booth, food trucks, and pie for sale to support fifth grade camp. Our choir will also sing two songs at the festival. If your child would like to join Flames of Fall, they can bring a carved pumpkin to school on Friday morning to be displayed.
It takes many helping hands to make this special evening happen, and we’d be grateful for your help. Volunteers are needed for setup on Thursday, October 22, throughout the day on Friday, October 23, and cleanup on Saturday morning. Please use the SignUpGenius link below to choose a shift. Thank you for helping create a festive evening for our students and families!

I hope to see many of you Friday evening. Thank you for the care you show our students and one another every day.
Warmly,
Mrs. Cunniff

Enrollment Required Documents And Immunizations
The following are required to register your child:
- Proof of date of birth (birth certificate, birth record, passport, baptismal certificate, affidavit of the parent, guardian or custodian of the minor or other legal proof),
- Two forms verifying proof of residency, and
- Written immunization record from a physician, nurse, or health department.
Children must be immunized for MMR - measles, mumps and rubella (German measles), polio, DTaP - diphtheria, tetanus and pertussis (whooping cough), Hepatitis B, and Varicella (chicken pox) prior to school entry. State law requires students beginning Kindergarten have all required immunizations. Students missing immunizations will not be able to start school until we received these records.
Breakfast and Before School Care
Our MPR is open at 6:45 for students who need before school care. Students do not need to register in advance. Breakfast is served starting at 7:45 and ends at 8:15. Gates open at 8:05 for students to head to classrooms, put their backpacks down, and then walk to the playground. Any parent wishing to assist their child with breakfast or sit with them while they eat, will need to check in the office and go to the wellness center, which opens at 7:45 AM. To respect student privacy and safety we ask that parents do not stay with their child in the MPR or on the playground..
