We are excited to announce Vel Phillips' annual Thanksgiving Food Drive is back! However, this year the items we are asking for will look a little different. In light of the hardships some people may be experiencing in our community we are going to be asking for any non-perishable food items in order to make meals in a bag that will be available to our school community as well as donating to our local food pantries. Next week Monday, Nov. 17th - Friday, Nov. 21st we are going to teach our students about the importance of giving back with kind words and good deeds. For our food drive we will be collecting food items in hopes to provide the essentials for families in the community. Students will bring their donations to homebase and will be competing to see which House can collect the most food items. To ensure everyone has the opportunity to contribute, students will also have the ability to add to their House point total by writing a thank you card to someone important to them. The top 3 Houses with the most food items donated and letters written will earn House points! Last year this will was a big hit and our students made a huge difference in our community!
