Message from Coach Carter, Coach Harper, and the Lady Leopards Girls' Basketball Team:

To the Lawnside community:

The Lady Leopards and the coaching staff would like to take this time to thank you all for supporting us throughout the year! Thank you for coming to games - both home and away - and for supporting our team and our many fundraising efforts. With your support, we were able to take our girls to their first WNBA game in New York! An amazing experience that many of them will not soon forget. We made a great deal of progress this season, both on and off the court, and we look forward to making even more next year. Again, none of this is possible without your support - THANK YOU!

- Coach Carter

It has been an absolute joy coaching and mentoring our girls basketball team this season! As a volunteer coach who works in "corporate America" with traditional office hours, I sometimes had to use my PTO to attend practices and some games. “Mental Wellness” is what I list as the reason for my time off request because it is pleasing to my soul to watch the girls learn and grow, not just on the court but in life! Sounds ironic but I love to hear our players say “I can’t do that!” because the smiles and looks on their faces when they realize they CAN do it shows on my face, too. We yell at our players but we also hug our players. Our community contains great talents and we are proud of the commitment that our girls basketball team has shown to become better players, community members, and students. Please continue to support and encourage our youth any way that you can….. then watch them grow!

“It takes a village to raise a child” - African Proverb

We want to extend our deepest gratitude to each and every one of you for your unwavering support throughout this season. Your enthusiasm, encouragement, and dedication have been instrumental in our team's success, and we are incredibly grateful for your generosity and kindness.

Even though our season got off to a late start, your presence at our games, whether cheering from the bleachers or providing moral support, has fueled our players with confidence and motivation. Your commitment to attending our games has not gone unnoticed, and it has truly made a difference in the lives of our young athletes along with contributing to our teams’ growth and development.

As we reflect on the season and celebrate our achievements, we want to express our sincerest gratitude to each and every one of you. Whether you are a parent, a teacher, a volunteer, a sponsor, or a fan, please know that your support has made a meaningful difference in the lives of our student-athletes, instilling in them a sense of pride, belonging, and accomplishment that will stay with them for years to come.

Your support extends far beyond the basketball court. Your belief in our players' potential, your willingness to volunteer your time and expertise, and your commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive community have had a profound impact on our team members. Your actions have not only helped them become better athletes but also better individuals, teaching them the values of teamwork, perseverance, and sportsmanship.

Thank you for being a village that cares for our young people!

Best regards,

Coach Donica Venable & Coach Tyrone Pitts

Message From The Superintendent✊🏾 Message From The Superintendent✊🏾

Dear Lawnside Family,

As another successful school year comes to a close, I want to take a moment to reflect on the tremendous accomplishments of our students, and staff. This year has been filled with remarkable achievements, growth, and lasting memories that we can all be proud of.

Our students continue to amaze us with their dedication, curiosity, and drive to learn. Their commitment to improving their overall academic achievement has brought us great pride. We celebrated student achievement on a regular basis. These achievements are a testament to the hard work and commitment of our incredible students.

None of this would be possible without the unwavering support and guidance of our exceptional staff. Their passion for education, nurturing guidance, and commitment to creating a positive and engaging learning environment have been instrumental in our students' success. We are truly fortunate to have such dedicated professionals shaping the minds and lives of our young learners.

I would also like to extend my sincere gratitude to our families and community members for their continuous involvement and partnership. Your support and active engagement in our school has played a crucial role in fostering an environment where our students can thrive. Your contributions, whether through volunteering, attending school events, or advocating for our district, have made a significant impact.

As we look ahead to the next school year, we remain committed to providing an exceptional educational experience for all our students. We will continue to prioritize academic achievement, foster a safe and inclusive learning environment, and empower our students to reach their full potential.

Thank you for an amazing year, and I wish you all a wonderful and restful summer break. We look forward to welcoming all of our students back in the fall, refreshed and ready to embark on new adventures and achievements. For those students participating in a Summer program, we look forward to seeing you on July 8th.

Sincerely,

Dr. Ronn Johnson
