KHS IB Diploma Program Newsletter

Third quarter report cards were sent home on Monday 4/25 and current grades can be seen in schoology daily. If you need a copy of the report card emailed to you please email me Lforman@bcps.org and I can send it over to you.

At our IB DP Breakfast we recognized students who received all As, Bs, and no more than one C for third quarter.

We spent time celebrating our grade 10 students who are continuing into the Diploma Program for grade 11! They have been working diligently to prepare their skills and background knowledge to meet with success in their college level courses next year.

Our graduating seniors have come so far and have accomplished so much, so it was a pleasure to celebrate them and to give them their graduation regalia.

All exams will be held in the library lab.

SENIORS: Please note the Biology exam has the longest sections which go beyond the normal school day. A ride home will be needed on that date.

JUNIORS: Please note that the Psychology and Spanish exams are the same date!

Students will be allowed to come in only for exams on these dates and will not be required to attend regularly scheduled classes. A form will be sent home for parent approval. ONLY students who return the form will be provided with these accommodations. Students who did not submit an IA or other exam component will not test and will attend classes.

We hosted a registration event for incoming students on 4/26 where we introduced the program and went over required paperwork for the program. Residency required documents are listed below. If you have questions about the program or if you missed the meeting please email LForman@bcps.org

Are you looking for academic support on Saturdays? Interested in a college prep summer academy? Upward Bound may be the place for you! The program this summer is 6 weeks long and focuses on different colleges and skills to prepare students for college. There is no cost, transportation is provided from a localized stop, and spaces are limited. If you have questions or prefer a paper application please email Lforman@bcps.org and I will forward you more details.

Eligibility Requirements: Ninth, tenth, and eleventh grade students who attend the following area high schools: Chesapeake, Dundalk, Kenwood, Overlea, and Patapsco. Participants selected must meet the federal guidelines for low-income and potential first-generation college students.
