Important Reminders from Mr. Kausch

It was a busy week at Carleton! We had a successful picture day for both hybrid and virtual students, two home boys' basketball games, and several of our students began taking the WIDA assessment (for those students that speak more than one language).

REMINDERS:

NWEA testing will begin this week on Wednesday, March 10th. Please have your child plan on visiting their teacher's WebEx link to begin this assessment. This week will be reserved for 8th graders to complete the language arts test and 7th graders to complete the math test. Other classes will have asynchronous work to complete if they are not testing.

SCHEDULING for next school year will begin in the coming days. Please be on the lookout for information about scheduling for next school year and begin to talking to your student about what classes they may be interested in taking.

PARENT TEACHER CONFERENCES are quickly approaching. Our spring date is Thursday, March 18th. We will use the same program as the Fall (Conference Manager) which parents will be able to access through Parent Portal. Look for more information this week to arrange a conference.

HYBRID STUDENTS should be bringing their laptops fully charged to school when they are in person. If you don't have a district issued laptop, were previously using a desktop computer, or are uncomfortable sending your student with a personal laptop, you can fill out the Technology Survey (link below) to receive one.

STUDENT PICK UP AND DROP OFF is at the BACK of the building. Please help the flow of traffic by pulling all the way to the back of the building and staying out of the bus loop in the front of the building. Also, if you want to park, please use a designated parking spot to help with the flow of traffic. The side doors will remain locked. Doors open at 7:50 AM and students report directly to their first hour classroom.

LUNCH is currently universal free for the school year. Your child does not need to come to school with any money for lunch. Additional lunches and breakfast meals will be passed out at Carleton this Wednesday March 10th from 7am-5pm at door 12.

Have a wonderful and relaxing weekend!
