MAP testing.......DONE

This week we had some great lessons and learning activities! There are some great things going on in our classrooms! We have seen many great activities, and student engagement is at a high level! Make up MAP Testing was completed this week.

You can view your students grades 24/7 by logging into School Insight (Teacher Ease).

This week our track team finished their season @ Festus. Our student-athletes have been focused and practicing to improve their skills. We are proud of them. Thank you goes out to our track coaches, Ms. Emily Zysk & Mrs. Macy Hahn.

Our 7th grade field trip was a success! They went to the Missouri Kids Unplugged (MKU) farm. The students learned about recycling materials, were educated on furbearers in Missouri, and caught a bunch of fish! All the supplies were provided free of charge. Thank you goes out to Tony and this MKU team for hosting our students.

Here is a link to the school district calendar for the year. We have many activities coming up!

Our students have completed Exact Path diagnostic testing for 2nd semester. They assessed over English/Language Arts/Reading & Math. They are now focused on individual learning paths based on their own levels of mastery. The Exact Path program assigns them lessons and activities based on their individual levels on mastery. Each students should complete 14 competencies in English/Reading & Math over the course of the 2nd semester (standards in their current grade level). Have your students login at home and show you where they are on their grade level lessons and activities. (Edmentum Exact Path)

RTI teachers run missing assignment reports for their students. This process is a focus weekly. The students receive a weekly reward for NO missing assignments! Parents/Guardians can login at any time to see grades & assignments.

Grades.........D & F lists are looked at every week and the students receive a hard copy to bring home, have signed, and return to school. This procedure has been in place each week of the school year. You can see your students grades 24/7 by logging into (School Insight) Teacher Ease. If your son or daughter has a D and/or F in one of their classes they will have a form to return to school. For one reason or another sometimes these forms don't make it home. Please check on your students grade periodically, or as often as needed. Please do not wait until then to focus on your students in danger of failing grades. Our teachers can always be contacted, and want what's best for our students.

If any students have two or more failing grades we will have family discussions, and/or communication. We have Survivor Games (Battle of the Grades) planned for next week. Students must qualify to participate.

We will have on-site summer school this year K-5, contact Mrs. Lori Howerton for more information.

One of our focuses this year is on Student Attendance. We are aiming for 95% or higher for the school year.

You can review policies/procedures in the Middle School Handbook.

May (Trust)

To be trustworthy in school, focus on being honest, reliable, and upholding your commitments. This means being truthful, not lying or cheating, and following through on promises. Additionally, showing courage by doing the right thing and being loyal to friends and family can contribute to a trustworthy reputation.

Here's a more detailed breakdown:

  • Honesty:

Be truthful in all interactions, including academic work and with peers. Don't lie, cheat, or steal.

  • Reliability:

Keep your word and follow through on commitments, such as completing assignments or participating in group projects.

  • Courage:

Stand up for what is right, even when it's difficult, and report any inappropriate behavior you see.

  • Loyalty:

Be a good friend and confidante, and be loyal to your family and community.

  • Integrity:

Refrain from engaging in behaviors that undermine trust, such as gossip or spreading rumors.

  • Respect:

Show respect for others' opinions, ideas, and boundaries, and listen actively.
