Happy Sunday MRE Parents,

We are getting ready to start Week 8 of our first grading perios. The weeks are surely going by fast! This past week we had a lot of fun celebrating iwth our feeder high school, Eastlake High School, homecoming festivities. Thank you very much for your participation and joining us at the Eastlake HS Parade as well.

These next two weeks are going to be key. Our teachers will be conducting their final reviews and instruction in order to prepare our scholars for their 9WK Checkpoint assessments. It is very important scholars are in school all day, every day. We will be gathering our data in order to make necessary modifications in our instruction so we can help our scholars during October Intersession and when we come back from intersession.

Parents,

Our teachers will be invinting our scholars to our Meets & Masters (M & M) Camp for this October Intesession. Using our STAAR data from previous year, our goal is to provide our scholars with addtional extension opportunities in the areas of RLA, Math, & Science so that they can achieve a Meeet and/or Masters Level in this year's STAAR. We aks for your permission to allow to conitinue workng with them so we can accomplish this. Additional information will be forthcoming.

STAAR scores are availabe for G4 & G5 students only by using Skyward. SISD sent out an email last week with more information on how to access. If you have any questions, please contact our main office.

We will be releasing 6 Week Progress Reports this week via Skyward. Our campus will not be sending home paper progress reports. We kindly ask you login to Skyward to your reveiw your child's grades and progress. If you have any quesitons. please reach out to your child's teacher.

Car Pick Up Signs/Cards are required for the Pick Up Lane. Please ask your teacher if you don't have one. For cards, have them available so we can expedite your pick up. For signs, please place your sign on the passenger side so we may see it at a distance to ensure your child is ready for you when you pull up to the assigned pick up.

VERY IMPORTANT: If your child is scheduled to ride the bus, please read the following:

• Verify you child has a bus ID
• If no bus ID, you must stop by the campus to obtain one ($5 replacement fee if you have misplaced it or has damage)
• If using transportation services, please stop by the campus to sign consent to allow your child to be dismissed by boarding the bus.

The Socorro Independent School District is introducing Ride 360, an app that allows a streamlined flow of communication for parents when their child rides the bus.

The app uses GPS data and allows parents to see their students’ bus route information as they travel throughout the district. Parents can access their child’s secure data for bus stop location, route and pick up time, including when and where their child boards and exits the bus.

The app also allows push notifications from the transportation department to inform parents of pickup and drop-off schedules, delays, accidents, changes in bus assignments and other important information.

Parents can download the Traversa Ride 360 app on the App store or get it on Google Play.

The Socorro Independent School District is implementing Skyward Family Access for parents and students for the 2023-2024 school year. Skyward Family Access will replace the Tyler360 portal.

Skyward Family Access is an easy-to-use website that allows parents and guardians to access information about their students, such as attendance, grades, assignments, schedules, progress reports and report cards. Skyward Family Access is available on any device with an internet connection.

SISD appreciates parents’ patience and understanding during the transition to Skyward Family Access.

We know our students will become ill throughout the year. For this reason, it is important that when our students are healthy, they are attending school every day. Lost instructional days do not only impact your child's education but also the education and dynamics of all students in the classroom. For this reason, MAKING EVERYDAY Count is critical for the success of your child and all students on campus.

The state of Texas holds administrators and parents accountable for attending school daily. At 5 absences or tardies, you will be asked to have a meeting with administration to make sure we are working together to educate your child. Please help support our teachers by bringing in your children ready to learn. We thank you for making attendance a priority.

Early pick-ups

• Early pick-ups are not processed 30 min before dismissal.
• PK/Kinder: No later than 2:15
• 1st-5th : No later than 2:45

Systems are working and this week we will begin to work on arriving on time. Students' tardiness will go into effect soon. Note the following

• Doors will open at 7:00 am
• First Bell will ring at 7:30 am
• Tardy Bell will ring at 7:45
• Breakfast in the classroom will be served from 7:30-7:45 am
• Instruction will start promptly at 7:30 AM

This first week, there was no traffic on Nonap by 745 AM. Please plan accordingly so your child can be in school on time. Thank you for your assistance!

Starting ths week, scholars who are in close ALL week, Monday throught Friday, earn a FREE DRESS PASS that they could use the following Monday
