MEF ST. PATRICK'S DAY 5K
GOOD FRIDAY CHANGED TO AN EARLY RELEASE
GOOD FRIDAY CHANGED TO AN EARLY RELEASE SCHOOL DAY IN ORDER TO CHANGE LAST DAY OF SCHOOL DATE TO JUNE 26, 2026
At last Tuesday’s School Committee Meeting, the Marshfield School Committee voted to allow the District to enter impact bargaining with our unions regarding the possibility of having Friday, April 3, 2026 (Good Friday) as an early release day, mirroring the schedule we have the day before Thanksgiving, the day before December Break, and the last day of school. After bargaining with our unions, we have determined that April 3, 2026 (Good Friday) will be an early release schedule. Any family seeking an excused absence for Good Friday because of religious or other reasons, should please contact your principal. This early release day will make the last day of school Friday, June 26 (early release schedule) instead of Monday, June 29.
The dismissal schedule for Friday, April 3, 2026 will be as follows:
11:00 a.m. Marshfield High School
11:15 a.m. Furnace Brook Middle School
12:05 p.m. Daniel Webster, Eames Way, Governor Winslow, Martinson & South River Elementary Schools
Please note that breakfast and lunch WILL NOT be served, and there will be NO PRE-K on this day.
Thank you for your continued commitment to our district. Have a great rest of your week.
Sincerely,
Dr. Patrick Sullivan, Superintendent of Schools
Dr. Ellen Martin, Assistant Superintendent of Schools
Thank you to all families who participated in the survey. The results are below.
SMART WITH MONEY FAIR AT MHS
Thank you to everyone who helped to make the Smart with Money Fair a great success today at MHS. As part of our efforts to help students with financial literacy, the Smart with Money Fair allowed students to take on money decisions and discuss those decisions with financial professionals. This annual event for our seniors is wonderful!

FOCUS FOR THE YEAR
As we progress through the third year of our five-year collaboratively developed Strategic Plan, we remain focused on our Mission, Core Values, and Vision, and on realizing the strategic initiatives that will help us reach our goals. As a reminder, our four pillars that will serve us for remainder of the strategic plan are:
“Equity, Belonging, and Wellness”
“Teaching, Learning, and Leading”
“Community, Engagement, and Communication”
AND
“Management and Operations”
BELONGING INITIATIVE: CHOOSING A DISTRICT WIDE SEL PLATFORM
One of the major goals of our Belonging efforts this year is to choose a Social-Emotional Leanring (SEL) platform for our district. Under the leadership of Dr. Ellen Martin, Assistant Superintendent, we have assembled a comprehensive steering team who are looking at the research, establishing priorities, and working to narrow down some final platforms for field testing at all levels this spring with a goal of full adoption next fall. The two platforms / curriculums that we will be fieldtesting are Wayfinder and Ruler, both research based and used widely throughout districts across the country. They offer tiered supports for all students, and they are connected closely to the CASEL Competencies. There will be time for student and family input in this important initiative.
GREAT LEARNING HAPPENING THROUGHOUT THE DISTRICT

Attorney General Guidance / "Know Your Rights" Guide
In May of 2025, amid increased immigration enforcement activity across Massachusetts, Attorney General Andrea Joy Campbell released a ‘Know Your Rights’ guide designed to help immigrants, families, and communities understand their rights and the basic legal framework for U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) actions. As we begin the school year we once again wanted you to have this information. Should you have additional questions or concerns regarding your students and how we can support them, please contact your building principal or Kate Lyons-Mailoux, Director of ESL.
