EC June Newsletter
June 1, 2026
A Message From the Director
Dear Families,
It’s hard to believe I am already sending out the June newsletter! Where did the time go? This school year has truly flown by, and it has been amazing to see the tremendous growth and progress our students have made throughout the year. With your partnership and support, we have accomplished so much together, and I am incredibly grateful for our wonderful EC community.
As we wrap up the school year, we also say goodbye to our second graders as they move on to the Upper Elementary School next year. We are so proud of all they have achieved and wish them the very best of luck on their next adventure!
It has been a pleasure getting to know the students, families, and staff here at the PHA Early Childhood Campus. I look forward to all of the great things we will continue to accomplish together during the 2026–2027 school year.
Wishing everyone a safe, relaxing, and wonderful summer!
Ms. Tintle
Important June Dates- Please Make Note
No School for Kindergarten Students Only
On June 5th there will be no school for our current kindergarten students only. This is the day our kindergarten team welcomes our new kindergarten families into school for the 2026-2027 Kindergarten Screening.
Keep Reading All Summer Long!!
As we head into summer vacation, one of the most important things families can do to help students continue growing is to keep reading as part of their daily routine. Just 15–20 minutes of reading each day can make a huge difference in helping children maintain the progress they worked so hard to achieve this school year.
Reading over the summer helps:
- Strengthen vocabulary and comprehension skills
- Build confidence and fluency
- Prevent the “summer slide”
- Encourage imagination and curiosity
- Create positive family routines
Some easy ways to keep kids reading this summer:
- Visit your local library regularly
- Let children choose books that interest them
- Read together before bedtime
- Listen to audiobooks in the car
- Read recipes, signs, magazines, comics, or directions together
- Create a fun summer reading chart or challenge
Most importantly, make reading enjoyable! When children see reading as fun and meaningful, they are much more likely to continue developing strong lifelong literacy habits.
