Mittens of Hope
Please help us make the holidays a little better for families in our own community. If you are interested in purchasing an item off a child's wish list please call Nikki @ Elementary School 952-955-0300 or email nichole.hunkins@wm.k12.mn.us and I will let you know what items are still needed. In addition to gifts, we are looking for gift cards (gas, groceries, Target, etc) and wrapping supplies.
Thank you!
Save the Date!!
Enjoy a night out while WMHS National Honor Society members take care of your children.
This event is open to kids ages 3 (potty trained) - 4th grade. Sign-up information will come out next week.
SNACKS NEEDED!!!
The Royals Room supply of snacks is almost gone. Please consider making a donation. See the link below for ideas or to order off of Amazon and have them delivered right to the Elementary School. These snacks are distributed to students in our building on a daily basis. Individually bagged snacks work best as they are easy to distribute. Thank you in advance for your help in filling our snacks!
5 Winter Items - Recess Everyday
All students are outside for 30 minutes everyday.
We will have indoor recess if there is rain, lightning, or if air temperatures with wind chills reach -10 degrees below zero. Decisions impacting recess will be based on local conditions at the time of recess.
PLEASE SEND ALL 5 ITEMS EVERYDAY!!
- Winter Coat
- Snow Pants
- Boots
- Hat
- Gloves/Mittens
We do not have extra items available for students to use if they forget their winter gear.
Save The Date: Family Glow Fest

School Breakfast & Lunch
The Minnesota Free School Meals Program is now permanent!
- What does this mean? Students can receive their first standard breakfast and lunch for FREE!
- What do I need to remember? If students go back for a second full meal, additional entrees, side items, or a la carte, these DO cost extra based on the item. If your child has permission to get extras, please be sure that there is money in their lunch account. This includes milk to accompany any home lunches.
HERE is the link for the updated cost of full second breakfast, lunch, and the approximate costs of a la carte items.
Have You Applied for Educational Benefits?
Even though the Minnesota Free Meals Program is permanent, we strongly encourage families to apply to see if you are eligible for educational benefits through the Infinite Campus Parent Portal. Educational benefit applications (Free and Reduced applications) impact the educational funding that our schools receive and can affect other additional fees.
HERE is the link to our website to learn about how you can apply!
