TIME CHANGE CHALLENGE! TIME CHANGE CHALLENGE!

⏰ Next Week is Our Week for 100% On-Time Arrivals! 🌟

The clocks are changing this weekend, gifting us an extra hour of rest—and eliminating one of the most common morning excuses! As we "fall back" and adjust to the new time, let's use this fresh start to make a monumental shift in our daily routine.

Starting Monday, we are setting an exciting new goal: 100% on-time arrivals with zero tardies for the entire week!

Why?.. Because Every Minute and Every Day Counts!

Being on time isn't just about following rules; it's the first step in building a successful day and a successful future.

  • The Power of Being Present: When you arrive on time, you're ready to learn from the very first bell. You won't miss important instructions, warm-up activities, or the critical moments that set the stage for the rest of the day. Every day you are here, you are investing in yourself and your future knowledge.

  • A Positive Start: Rushing in late can make you feel stressed and flustered, which can carry through the whole day. Arriving early or on time gives you a moment to breathe, greet your friends, and settle into your seat feeling calm, confident, and ready to conquer the day.

  • Respect for All: When you are late, it briefly disrupts the entire class. By being on time, you show respect for your teacher's planning, your classmates' focus, and your own commitment to learning.

We understand that life happens. If you are truly sick, the most important thing is to stay home and get better! But if you are coming to school, we need you to be here, in your seat, and ready to go when the bell rings.

Plans are underway for our annual Veterans Day Program.

On November 11, at 1:50 p.m., we will celebrate Veterans Day with a special program. We invite any relative or friend of a Jefferson Elementary student who has served, or is currently serving, our country to join us so we can honor them. Veterans are invited to dress in uniform or join us in red, white, and blue attire! During the program, student leaders will share information about Veterans Day, our special guests will be introduced, and the choir will sing a few songs. Veterans are asked to arrive between 1:30 and 1:45. We will invite our guests back to classrooms for informal question-and-answer opportunities after the program.

If you don't have clothing to match the requested color, no problem- just wear any Red, White, or Blue clothing!

Visual & Performing Arts Gifted Education Identification

Each year, school districts in Ohio are required to offer an opportunity for students in grades K-12 to be identified as gifted in the area of Visual and Performing Arts. The identified areas of giftedness for Visual and Performing Arts include Visual Arts, Vocal Music, Instrumental Music, Drama/Theater, and Dance. If you know of a student that may be gifted in an area of the Visual and Performing Arts (VPA) learn more about the identification process.

Candy Drive Candy Drive

We will be collecting Candy for the Troops! Do you have extra Halloween candy that you would like to donate to the U.S Military? Please send in all of your extra candy to school by November 3 , 2024. We will have a collection bin in the front lobby. We will be partnering with a local organization to ship the candy to US military troops.

Join our Facebook Group and be part of the community.

This group was created for Jefferson families and staff to support and celebrate our students and school. It's also a great place to ask questions of other parents and have support as you navigate the school year.

We are excited to see all the amazing and encouraging ways our families and staff connect with each other! This is a place for positive comments and a helpful resource for families. This is not the place to voice concerns. If you have an issue you would like to discuss, please get in touch with the staff member directly via email or call the school. This is a place to build on the sense of community within our Jefferson Family.
