Greetings Falcon Families!

We look forward to seeing you all during our Open House on Tuesday! We will open our doors at 4:00 to those who need to access the Sensory Friendly Open House only. We invite all others to join us from 4:30-6:30. Schedules will be shared through the Infinite Campus Parent Portal on Tuesday Morning. Families are invited to report directly to their homebase for a hard copy of their schedule, along with additional resources. If you are unable to access your student's schedule through Infinite Campus prior to Open House, you may get your homebase assignment upon your arrival at the locations below.

• 7th / 8th Grade - Minnie Evans Art Center (enter through the MEAC doors)
• 6th Grade - Media Center (Enter through front doors)

We do realize that some families have had difficulty with the Infinite Campus Parent Portal. We will have a station set up in the cafeteria to assist you with these issues if needed. We also invite you to join me in the gym to hear about our goals for the year. These brief sessions will be offered at 4:15, 4:45, 5:15, and 5:45.

We also encourage you to make time to stop by our Murray Mart, purchase some Murray Swag, and join our PTA! You can also support our PTA by stopping by stopping by Playa Bowls in Monkey Junction for our PTA Spirit Night on Thursday, August 21st!

Murray Middle School

Murray Middle School Student schedules should be available to view in Infinite Campus on Tuesday, August 19th.

In order to avoid the Open House lines, we encourage you to do your best to access this schedule prior to attending Open House that evening.

How to Access Your Student Schedule

Students can access Infinite Campus (IC) in two ways:

1. Through NCEdCloud

Log in to NCEdCloud as usual and access Infinite Campus through the NCSIS App on your dashboard.

2. Through the Campus Student App

• Download the Campus Student app from the App Store Campus Student or Google Play Campus Student.
  

• Search for your District Name and State (enter at least 3 characters of your district's name to search).
  

• Select your district from the list.
  

• Enter your Username and Password (this is likely the same as your NCEdCloud login)
  If using a secure, private device, you may select Stay Logged In to receive mobile push notifications (if enabled by your school).

• Click Log In.
  
  

The Campus Student and Campus Parent apps offer the same tools as the browser version, plus the option to stay logged in and receive push notifications.

Parent Portal Access

If you have your activation key

1. Go to https//650.ncsis.gov/parent

2. Enter the Activation Key and submit

3. Back to Login

4. Click New User at the bottom of the login area.

5. Create your username and password.

6. Click Save

7. At the next box click on OK to complete your annual paperwork

If you don't have an activation key

1. Go to https://portalaccess.ncsis.gov/

2. Select New Hanover County Schools from the drop-down list

3. Enter your child's information and select find student

4. Select the appropriate parent/guardian

5. Select verification method (email or phone). Make sure the screen is showing the correct email address and phone number.

6. You will either receive an email or text message with your verification code

7. Type in code at next screen and submit

8. Next screen provides Activation key (write this down)

9. Follow the steps above for having activation key
   
   

Please create your account as soon as possible, as important information about the start of the school year will be shared through your Portal Account.

This year, our district switched from PowerSchool to INFINITE CAMPUS. All beginning-of-year paperwork and bus transportation requests can be made by completing the online enrollment. Click here to begin your enrollment.

• You will need your student’s IC Number to begin enrollment. Ask your student - it is their number for the cafeteria, Clever login and to check out books at the media center. They should know this number - if not, call the office, and we can provide it to you.

• Give yourself about a total of 20 minutes to do this (even with multiple students).

• You will have to verify yourself, then you will be taken to IC to register - I recommend using the same email address in both places.

• New this year - You will have to “Opt-In” to receive text messages on the first screen in the enrollment steps. Many of you appreciate receiving the text message notifications regarding school news/updates, so please be sure to opt-in if you want to continue receiving these.

• We will have computers set up in the cafeteria during Open House to provide time, space, and support for families to complete the online enrollment.

• If you are unable to access a computer to complete the enrollment process before August 5th and will need bus transportation, please call the school or email angela.jeter@nhcs.net to request the bus.

First day of school is Tuesday, August 26th. Each morning students begin entering the building at 8:00 and should be in their homebase by 8:20 (1st bell will chime). Announcements begin and students are coded as tardy at 8:25 (Tardy Bell will ring). We dismiss each afternoon at 3:40 (Dismissal Bell will ring). Additional information regarding daily schedules, routines, and procedures will be provided during Open House.

Just a friendly reminder that student cell phones, earbuds/airpods, and all other personal devices are expected to be turned off and away in student bookbags for the day. Click here for more information.

Girls Fall Season

Parents are responsible for all of their transportation.

Students entering 7th grade are required to have one dose of Tdap (tetanus, diphtheria, pertussis) vaccine and one dose of meningococcal conjugate vaccine for individuals who have not already received those vaccines

An up-to-date immunization record indicating that your student has received all required immunizations is due by the first day of attendance at school. If proof of immunization is not provided by September 25, 2024, your student will not be allowed to attend school from September 26th until it is provided, as required by law.
