MESSAGE FROM PRINCIPAL BANKS
Greetings Lindblom MSA Eagles,
We recognize and deeply appreciate the care, commitment, and high expectations our staff bring to our students each day. Our classrooms are spaces where students are challenged, supported, and empowered to grow. We are excited to celebrate them with a few small tokens of appreciation this week. If you would like to help on any of the dates noted in the image, please contact Mr. Herrera to learn more about how you can help.
As we move into an important stretch of the school year, continued focus and partnership remain essential:
AP Testing begins this week and continues through Friday, May 15. We are committed to maintaining smooth operations and focused testing environments for all students.
Senior Decision Day (May 6): We look forward to celebrating our seniors and their postsecondary plans. The link to our live stream will be shared with students and parents.
Deadlines for senior grades (May 19 at 5:00PM) and grades for 8th graders (May 26 at 5:00PM) support timely graduation decisions and final records. Please make sure students submit any missing work before the deadline.
We also want to thank the staff who supported our recent May Day activities, helping students engage in learning around solidarity and youth voice. We are proud of the meaningful experiences provided to our students.
As always, student safety remains a priority, and we appreciate your continued partnership in reinforcing expectations that support a safe and structured learning environment.
Thank you for your ongoing support of our students and school community.
Together we rise onward and upward,
Principal Banks

BE EMPOWERED
Student Spotlight
Congratulations to Alexia Banks, Hanna Smith, Leah Harris, Ornella Fambe, Joshua Douglas, and Yatzari Correa! These students definitely amplified their voices and stepped into leadership this past week as they hosted a panel of seniors (Yayra Yametekou, Joshua Scott, Abigail Lagunas, Mya Dunham, Harper McDonald, Mickale Blakely, and Angel Paz-Hernandez). The event was designed to bridge the gap between the junior and senior experience, which was focused on:
Navigating the college application process.
Practical tips for balancing academics and extracurriculars.
Encouragement and "lessons learned" to kickstart a successful senior year.
Congratulations to our 8th grade students whom so bravely presented their projects at the Science Symposium! Their projects were insightful and their presentation skills were impeccable.

We're looking forward to capturing your last spirit week of the school year.
Spring Band Concert
Please join us for the Spring Band Concert on Friday, May 8th at 5:30pm. We strongly encourage all guests to pre-order tickets for quicker entry into Keeler Hall, to minimize lines, and to prevent a late start to the concert.
Guests who pre-order tickets will receive an email confirmation, which will serve as your tickets for entry into Keeler Hall. You will not need to sign in at the admissions table if you pre-order tickets. Please make sure that the number of people in your party matches the number of guests in your confirmation email. Guests who do not pre-order tickets will need to pay with cash only and sign in at the admissions table. Again, we encourage all guests to pre-order tickets for easier, quicker entry into the concert hall. The deadline to pre-order tickets is Tuesday, May 5th. Please note that these entrance fees help to fund our band program's repair, supply, and operational needs. Additional donations are always welcome and greatly appreciated; donations can also be made with the Ticket Pre-Order Form and/or at the concert in cash.
High School Election Judge Program Updates
On March 17, 2026, over 1300 high school juniors and seniors served in over 1000 precincts throughout the City of Chicago. They were instrumental in having a free and fair election. We are thankful for their civic engagement and their service to our democracy.
Ninety-five (95) student election judges were from Lindblom. Parents, we greatly appreciate your support for our students and the High School Student Election Judge Program.

N16 Spotlight
Congratulations to our N16 Chief and Deputy Chief!
We want to congratulate you and your principals for their dedication and work supporting our students with disabilities in new and exciting ways. The schools in this email all had teachers who participated in our Robotics4All / UDL4CS SY26 - 27 cohort. They work as part of a large group of Cluster, Special Education Resource and General Education teachers who use robotics to integrate Computer Science and Computational Thinking, bringing students together in rigorous learning experiences.
Here is a short social media video and some pictures that the CPS communications team shared from our Robotics4All Showcase on Wednesday, April 15th.

And here is the video: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1bUjlD380PHG8oT9NAl67PW1Mqs56cNox/view?usp=drive_link
We are happy to share more about the program. Over 800 students, teachers and SECAs from K - 12 attended. They showcased the work they have been doing in class, they did Unified Robotics scrimmages with Special Olympics of Illinois and they engaged with FTC and FRC high school robotics (the competitive high school teams).
