PINK OUT DAY AT PARKER 💗
This week, our entire campus came together to support Breast Cancer Awareness Month by rocking PINK from head to toe! Staff and students showed off their creative side with pink clothes, pink hair, and all kinds of awesome pink accessories. To top it off, our campus got a surprise “TP’ing” with a flock of pink flamingos—adding a fun, festive touch to the day!
Thank you to everyone for showing your spirit and support—we definitely rocked Pink Out Day in true Parker style! #ParkerProud #PinkOut 💗
We are continuing in my unique spin on National Principal’s Month -- with some fun weekly appreciations staff activities! 🎉
Last week, we had a blast kicking off the celebrations with some fun trivia and crowned three champs. Now, let’s recap this week’s challenge—the Ultimate Rock, Paper, Scissors Challenge!
Staff wore bracelets and faced off in quick games throughout the day, but no battles during instructional time! The winner collecting the loser’s bracelet(s). Ms. Chen came out on top with an impressive 17 bracelets and earned herself a special self-care day!
The best part? The students were just as excited and fully invested in the challenge, eagerly coaching their teachers and sharing strategies to win more bracelets (and teaching us never to pick scissors 😉). Their enthusiasm was contagious!
Stay tuned—more surprises are coming! Keep up the great work, Parker Team!

THE APEX FUN RUN IS BACK!!!
Apex Fun Run Obstacle Course is one of Parker PTO’s largest fundraisers. Apex is a locally owned company that provides a two-week interactive school leadership program. It simultaneously helps to raise money and encourages development of leadership habits and good character combined with a fitness-focused all-school event.
- Why: This year, our goal is to use the money raised by the Fun Run to buy Smartboards (an interactive whiteboard) for as many classrooms as possible and support other essential curriculum needs. Also, each grade level will receive a percentage of the funds raised that teachers can determine how to use for their classrooms.
- When and Who: From October 28 to the Fun Run on November 7, students fundraise with their extended family and friends by asking for donations for their participation in the Fun Run.
- How: Supporters can either donate a straight dollar amount or designate a dollar amount per lap students complete during the obstacle course Fun Run event. Most students end up completing roughly 26 – 36 laps. Fun Run donations are all handled through Apex’s simple platform.
- Where: The event will be held at the school, and more details about the event, volunteer opportunities, and when you can watch your student participate can be found at https://parkerpto.membershiptoolkit.com/funrun

Safety Reminder for Arrival and Dismissal 🚗
First, I want to thank everyone for your collective effort in making our new arrival and dismissal procedures run smoothly! Your cooperation has truly made things fast, efficient, and effective. It takes all of us doing our part to keep it that way, and I appreciate the patience and support shown by our Parker community.
- Please do not let your child out of the car until you reach the orange cones. We've seen children being let out too early, in areas where there is no adult supervision to ensure their safety.
- Make sure to pull all the way to the front of the line before letting your children out of the car to help keep traffic flowing smoothly and safely for everyone.
Willowbend Entry
We've noticed some parents making a left turn across oncoming traffic on Willowbend to break the line into the entrance gate. While I understand the desire to move quickly, this is not only inappropriate behavior towards to those in line but also extremely unsafe. Please help us by following the proper procedures and avoiding any dangerous maneuvers.
Cell Phone Usage
Additionally, as a reminder, cell phones should not be used in the drop-off/pick-up zone during arrival and dismissal. Staying focused and alert is key to keeping everyone safe—especially our students and staff.
Speeding Through the Neighborhood
To ensure everyone’s safety on neighboring streets, I’ve requested HISD PD presence again to help monitor for speeding in our neighborhood streets, where families are walking to school.
Thank you all for your understanding and cooperation. Together, we can continue making arrival and dismissal safe and smooth for everyone!
