Debate Dominates—Again!
For the fourth consecutive year, our CX Debate team has claimed the title of District Champions—and they did it in historic fashion. For the third year in a row, our debaters went undefeated, not dropping a single round throughout district competition.
To top it off, we are proudly sending two CX members to the State Tournament, earning 1st and 2nd place at district. This level of consistency, excellence, and competitive grit is something truly special.
Congratulations to our debaters and coaches on another outstanding achievement.
College Park Debate continues to set the standard!
Science Fair Success at College Park!

English II STAAR Stand-Alone Field Test 2/3
College Park High School has been selected by the Texas Education Agency (TEA) to participate in the STAAR Stand-Alone Field Test in February 2026. Participation is mandatory for selected campuses under Texas Education Code Section 39.035.
English II Testing Requirement
All students enrolled in English II will be required to participate in the English II STAAR Field Test on Tuesday, February 3 at College Park High School.
What is the STAAR Stand-Alone Field Test?
The Texas Education Agency uses field tests to develop and improve future STAAR assessments. This stand-alone field test focuses on Reading Language Arts (RLA) and is designed to ensure a sufficient number of high-quality extended constructed-response questions are available for future state exams.
To reduce student testing fatigue, these questions are field-tested separately, rather than embedded within the operational STAAR assessments.
Who is required to participate?
-
All eligible students at selected campuses who are scheduled to take the corresponding spring 2026 STAAR assessments must participate.
Testing format and results
-
The field test will be administered online only.
-
This assessment does not impact student grades, promotion, or accountability ratings.
-
Neither College Park High School nor parents will receive individual student results, as the assessment is used solely for test development purposes.
Our campus plan
Our administrative team has carefully developed a testing plan that is minimally disruptive to the school day. Our goal is to avoid a full campus shutdown and allow the majority of students to continue with a normal instructional schedule while testing occurs in designated areas.
AP School Honor Roll for the 2024-25 school year!
The Woodlands College Park High School, has earned a place on the AP® School Honor Roll for the 2024-25 school year! On behalf of everyone in the AP community, congratulations to you and your colleagues.
The AP School Honor Roll recognizes schools that have done outstanding work to welcome more students into AP courses and support them on the path to college success.
Research shows that students who take AP courses and exams are more likely to attend college and graduate on time. The students who enter four-year colleges with credit from AP accelerate their path to graduation and build confidence for college success. And even for those who don’t earn college credit, AP coursework provides early exposure to college-level work and contributes to a college-going school culture.
We know it takes a significant schoolwide effort—dedication from teachers, counselors, administrators, students, and parents—to make AP access a priority. We join you in celebrating this inspiring achievement for your community. Again, congratulations! I'm inspired by your commitment and grateful for the chance to honor your success.
Sincerely,
Trevor Packer
Head of AP and Instruction

Ready for What’s Next: College, Career, and Military Readiness
At College Park, we believe every student should graduate with a plan and a purpose. College, Career, and Military Readiness (CCMR) means being prepared for life after high school—no matter what path you choose.
For some students, that means earning college credit or a career certification while still in high school. For others, it’s preparing to serve our country or gaining real-world skills for a job right after graduation.
For parents, CCMR is about knowing your student is confident, capable, and ready to take the next step toward their future.
Because at College Park, we don’t just graduate students—we graduate future leaders.
Students should work on their Course Plan (4-Year Plan) in Naviance. Paying careful attention to their next year - these courses will be what is submitted for their Course Selection. On 1/16/26 4-Year Plans in Naviance will lock for the remainder of the year. The next opportunity for changes will be during Cavalier Checkpoint in March.
College Park Grad Night
Cavalier Compass is a weekly video from our school counseling team, shared with all students during their Wednesday advisory. Its purpose is to provide resources, encouragement, and real-life skills that support students both in and out of the classroom. Topics range from study habits and course planning to mental health awareness, healthy lifestyles, and digital citizenship. Our goal is to connect with students in a fun, positive way while giving them tools to grow academically, socially, and emotionally.
If you have any questions about Cavalier Compass, please reach out to our lead counselor, Kasey Lucas (kllucas@conroeisd.net).
Current Attendance Rate 95.4%

CPHS wants All Cavaliers to Achieve. A large part of student success is related to student attendance. We want to teach our Cavs all we can in the days that we have with them. Please encourage your student to attend every period to gain the knowledge they need to be successful. In the event your child does miss school, please be sure to email our attendance office or see the new Student Absence Reporting App information below. Also, please remind your child to get with their teacher about any work they missed. We would also like to remind you that your child will be at risk of losing credit and parents/guardians may have to go to court due to attendance.
We encourage all parents to sign up for the SMART tag™ Parent App, which provides real-time updates on your child’s school bus. You’ll receive alerts when the bus is arriving, along with notifications about any delays or route changes.
Please note that we will no longer be using Bus Hubs to communicate bus delays—so be sure to download and activate the SMART tag™ Parent App to stay informed and connected.
