Assassins Game Not Allowed on Campus

Sent to families on February 11, 2026, at 8:40 am

Well, it’s that time of the year again. The “assassins” game has started. If you are unaware, this is a game amongst juniors and seniors who play for a pot of money. The game requires you to covertly “assassinate” another student using a water gun. After you “assassinate” one person, you are given another “target” from the game maker. Last one standing wins the money and bragging rights. Sounds simple and harmless, however our experience on campus has been different.

Last year, several students playing the “assassins” game decided to ambush our Boys Soccer Team who were returning from a match by school bus late at night. The student “assassins” waited in our parking lot. Students tried to get away by driving recklessly around our front and back lots. Some students ran toward moving vehicles to “assassinate” their peers. All of this was done on camera and was alarming for the adults who were powerless to stop it for risk of being hit by cars. Year before last, a young woman returning from a lacrosse game almost got hit in the parking lot trying to save her friend from being “assassinated” by an “assassin” in a car. A few years ago, a student almost got shot by their neighbor when a student decided to hide outside in the bushes to wait for a “target” late at night (the homeowner thought they were going to rob them). There is another incident of one of our students lying underneath another student’s car in the morning so they could wait to “assassinate” the car owner.

In case you think I’m being over dramatic, do a search – multiple law enforcement agencies will tell you this game has had dangerous consequences across the nation. If your child is playing the game, here are a few safety tips –

1. Have a water gun that is a bright, neon color – so it cannot be confused with an actual weapon.

2. They should never play the game while driving cars or chasing a car in motion.

3. Please set rules on your student being out late at night to play the game – once it is dark, it is hard to see students hiding and hard to discern whether their water gun is a toy or the real thing.

Cambridge High School does NOT allow this game to be played on campus. It should be considered a “safe zone”. Students coming and going from practice, competitions, the musical, and club meetings have all been targeted and it creates an unsafe environment on campus. Just last night I watched two young women race across our parking lot to “assassinate” a soccer player getting ready to leave for competition with her team. The students ran across the parking lot, which was filling up with cars for the basketball game. Again, it is not a safe situation for school.

To reinforce Cambridge as a “safety zone”, be aware that playing this game on our campus, regardless of the day or time, will result in a discipline consequence. If a senior is caught playing the game while driving or running towards a car in motion, there will be discipline consequences and loss of parking. This game is NOT allowed on campus; discipline and loss of parking is non-negotiable.

I ask that you please speak to your children about this game and your rules for how it is to be played to keep everyone safe. I know this is a right of passage in our community. Under the right circumstances, it can be a fun way to let off steam. I’m not against the game, just against the game on our campus. Students should not feel that they cannot safely go to their car at night or that they cannot get off the bus after a competition. Let’s keep this game off campus.

Thank you for your support. Be safe. Be the BRIDGE. GO BEARS!

Sincerely,

A²

Ashley Agans, Proud Principal of Cambridge High School

2026-2027 Course Verification - Final Phase

We have successfully completed the first round of student course request verifications, which ended on January 30. Our counseling team is currently processing the returned course request forms in Infinite Campus, which will help shape our master schedule for the 2026–2027 school year.

As we move forward, we are entering the final step in the course selection process.

Final Course Request Verification

  • Distribution Date: February 18, 2026
    • Students will receive a Final Course Request Verification Form during their B2 period, listing their academic courses and top-choice electives for the upcoming school year. This is their last opportunity to request necessary changes.
    • NO requested elective changes or leveling up will happen after February 20th, 2026.

  • Deadline for Forms and Applications: February 20, 2026
    • Students will only return their Final Course Request Verification Form to Bridge West if they have any inaccuracies with their courses listed on the form. The return of the form must have parent and student signatures, and any inaccuracies noted from the First Course Request Verification.
    • Additionally, all online forms and applications for programs such as work-based learning, online classes, and Exceptional Mentorship roles must be submitted by this deadline.
    • No additional online classes will be added after February 20 for both the fall and spring semesters of the 2026–2027 academic year.
    • No elective changes or leveling up will happen for the 26-27 school year after February 20, 2026. We will only honor leveling down requests if the student's schedule and master calendar allow for it. There are no guarantees.
    • Dual Enrollment contracts must be turned in by their designated contract deadline.

Key Considerations for Course Requests

  • Course Commitment: Course selections are final and binding for the entire duration of the course (year-long or semester-long).
    • Schedule changes will not be granted for reasons such as dissatisfaction with the course, preferred lunch periods, changes in personal preference, or requests for specific teachers or class periods.
    • NO requested elective changes or leveling up will happen after February 20th, 2026.

  • Online and Dual Enrollment Courses:
    • No additional dual enrollment and online classes will be added after February 20 for both the fall and spring semesters of the 2026–2027 academic year.
    • These courses must be taken off-campus—on-campus participation is not allowed.

  • Dual Enrollment Facilitation: The counseling office will oversee all Dual Enrollment courses.

For complete details and access to required forms, please visit the Cambridge High School website. Thank you for your attention to these important deadlines. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out to our counseling team.

Dual Enrollment Process and Deadline

The Dual Enrollment deadline for 2026-2027 next year is March 27, 2026. Students interested in taking Dual Enrollment need to review the presentation materials and join the CANVAS class (required) to begin the steps to enroll in a college class. Parents and guardians can join CANVAS as observers by visiting CANVAS Observer.

If you missed the Dual Enrollment information session on January 29, a video replay of the TEAMS session, along with the presentation and registration steps, is available on our website. Dual Enrollment Information Session for 2026-2027.

A counselor is available to assist students every day during both lunch periods, should they have questions. In addition, counselors will hold dual enrollment help sessions in the hallway outside the cafeteria on March 3rd, March 10th, March 17th, and March 24th.

Dual Enrollment Funding

The State of Georgia has announced that to be eligible for Dual Enrollment funding (or the ACE Grant) for college classes, is limited to U.S. citizens or Eligible Non-Citizens who meet Georgia residency requirements. If you did not provide a copy of your student’s Social Security card when enrolling your student in Fulton County Schools, please submit one to the Bridge West (Counseling Office). This is required if your student plans to use state funding for dual enrollment starting Summer 2026.
