Do You Have a Focus Account?
Focus is our student information system, and all parents/guardians should make sure that they have a Focus account! This will allow you to keep track of your student's grades, attendance, discipline, and more! If you don't have a focus account and need help creating one, please email focus@leepublicschools.net and we'll give you a hand. You can also email if you forgot your password or are having any issues accessing Focus.
Reporting an Absence or Dismissal
Focus will automatically text the parents/guardians of any students who are marked absent for the day at 10:00am whether you notified us or not. If you get the text message and have any questions about the absence, please give us a call.
Student Attendance Information
Students who are absent for the day may not participated in any school activities after school for that day. Exceptions can be granted in certain circumstances, only by the Dean of Students or Principal.
Students who are tardy to school in the morning (i.e., not in their first period class by the 7:58am bell) also have consequences:
- The first three unexcused tardies each quarter are "free" -- that is, no penalty applies.
- Beginning with the fourth unexcused tardy each quarter, students are issued a detention, and they may not participate in student activities (including athletics) after school that day. Coaches may still require such students to attend and watch.
- Excused tardies are only those for documented medical or legal appointments. Please be sure to provide documentation of the appointment for the student to be marked excused.
Attendance matters! Parents/guardians of students who accumulate excessive absences will receive warning notices from the school, and may be required to attend a meeting with the Dean and Principal. If the excessive absences continue, the school may file notice with the court system.
Free Film Screening
Hear Me: a documentary film
Sponsored by The First Congregational Church, UCC, Stockbridge. FREE.
Hear Me features seven young people from Berkshire County who have been impacted by gun violence. We explore root causes, stories of impact, and a way forward, through the voices of experts: those who have lived it.
Join us on Sun, Sept. 28th for a free film screening, followed by a talk-back. We’ll introduce public health models that have been effective at reducing shootings in other cities, and how we may work to implement them in Berkshire County.
Scholarship Opportunity!
The Stockbridge Library is starting a finance club for teens where they can learn about the stock market and investing from investment professionals. Teens participating in the club have the opportunity to win a $5,000, $2,500, and $1,000 college scholarship from the Library.
More details about it can be found on our Library website.
