SchoolStatus Connect is Coming!

We're excited to announce that Wilmington City Schools will be launching SchoolStatus Connect, a new, centralized platform designed to significantly improve communication between school, teachers, and you!

This platform will be your one-stop shop for school and classroom updates, direct messaging with teachers, announcements, and more. Our goal is to make it simpler and easier for you to stay informed and engaged in your child's education.

What is SchoolStatus Connect?

SchoolStatus Connect is an all-in-one family engagement platform that offers:

• 📱 Simplified Communication: Send and receive messages directly with your child's teachers and school staff.

• 🔔 Centralized Updates: Get all important announcements, newsletters, and classroom stories (photos/videos) in one easy-to-access feed.

• ⚙️ Flexible Notifications: Choose your preferred method for receiving updates: text message (SMS), email, or app notification.

What You Need to Do

Your invitation to join SchoolStatus Connect will be sent out on Monday, October 13.

• Look for an invitation via email and/or text message (SMS). The system uses the contact information we have on file.

• Follow the instructions in the invitation to create your account and download the mobile app (available on Apple and Android stores) or access it via a web browser.

• If you have multiple children, you will only need to sign up once, and all your children's classrooms will be linked to your single account.

Don't worry if you don't sign up right away; the system is designed to still deliver important messages to you via email or text message using the contact information we already have. However, we highly encourage you to accept the invitation to take full advantage of the platform's features, including the two-way messaging and centralized feed.

There is no need to sign up or create an account. You will automatically begin receiving communications to your email or SMS phone number that has been loaded by WCSD. The topics below will help guide you through the process after you recieve the invite on Monday Oct. 13th.

The SchoolStatus Connect parent portal is a one-stop-shop for you to view all of your SchoolStatus communications in one place, reach out to your student's teacher, or sign up for upcoming events.

• If you receive an email, click the "View on SchoolStatus Connect" button.
• If you receive a text, click the link provided to view the communication on SchoolStatus Connect

• The first time you click the link or button, you will be prompted to create a password.
• You’ll also be asked to select your language preference.

• Once your password is set, you can log in to SchoolStatus Connect anytime, either on the web or the mobile app using the credentials you just created.

Visit the SchoolStatus Connect website or download the mobile app and do one of the following:

• Sign in with Google or Microsoft (if your email is affiliated with Google or Microsoft) by choosing Google or Microsoft Single Sign-On.
• If you don’t have a Google or Microsoft account

• Enter your email address and password to log in.
• If you don’t know your password, Click Forgot Password and follow the instructions to reset it.

With SchoolStatus Connect, you get to be in control of how you receive communications. Visit your Account Settings from your avatar drop-down menu to update your preferences.

• Update your contact information
• Select your language preference
• Update your password

• Select your favorite channel: email, SMS, push notification
• Turn on and off specific notification types
