Thank you for everyone’s active participation in fall conferences. It was wonderful seeing so many families back in our building! We hope the time with your child’s teacher provided some foundational insights into their progress after returning to full in person learning. Please don’t hesitate to reach out to your child’s teacher with additional questions via Remind, email, or phone. Also, if you have not already, please sign and return the report card envelope via your child’s weekly folder/backpack. (These will be reused for the 2nd and 3rd trimester reporting periods.)
Thank you for all your generous giving to this year’s Bonney Lake Mayor’s Food Drive! Our Laker families contributed over 2,000 items to be donated to local resources for families. Thank you again for the incredible support demonstrated for our PTA with both the wreath sales and Cherrydale fall fundraisers. Now, with only two school weeks remaining in 2021, how about we celebrate a kickoff to the winter holiday season with some fun school activities and a very memorable school community event!! Here is an overview of what is on the horizon for EHE:
Winter “12 Days of December” FUN Spirit Days
12/8 -- Spread a little Winter Kindness day!
12/10 -- Wear your Flannels Friday
12/13 -- Holiday Silly Sock Day
12/14 -- Do you want to build a snowman? (dress like your favorite snowman)
12/15 -- Winter Scarf Day & the Bonney Lake High School choirs will be caroling for our students outside during student arrival
12/16 -- Fun or Silly Sweater Day
12/17 -- PJ Day!
PTA Walking in a Winter Wonderland outdoor family event -- 12/16...5:30-7:00pm
**Dress warm for whatever western WA weather surprises us :)

12/8 -- PTA meeting on site...6:30pm (arrival can begin at 6:00pm)
12/16 -- Walking in a Winter Wonderland (outdoor PTA event)..5:30-7:00pm
12/20-12/31-- Winter Break (school resumes on Jan. 3, 2022)
Nuts & Bolts
To help with the wardrobe....we have ongoing weekly themed days for school spirit: Mondays -- Character Trait/Positive/Inspirational quote day, Wednesdays -- Laker Gear, and Fridays -- Blue Friday/Favorite Sports team/College day
The first Thursday of each month we will have a special “Spirit Dress-up” day as selected by our 5th grade leaders.
From the District
Does your child perform at significantly advanced academic levels when compared with others? Consider referring them for Highly Capable Services. Families, staff and community members may submit referrals using either the online form or hard copy form (available at schools). View these presentations to learn more about the referral process and the continuum of services. The referral deadline is Dec. 9.
School meals will continue to be provided to all students at no cost throughout the 2021-22 school year. While applications have not been required for children to receive free meals during the pandemic, we still strongly encourage eligible families to complete the Free and Reduced-price Meal Application as they may also qualify to have fees waived or reduced for ASB cards, sports participation and other extracurricular activities. READY! for Kindergarten is a free program that offers age-appropriate targets, trainings and tools for parents and caregivers of children birth to age five that ensure children success in school.

PTA Laker Spirit Wear (UPDATED Link for ordering)
Thank you for your continued support of our school community. Our Laker Purposefull People Character Trait for the month of December is “Empathy…The ability to understand and connect to the feelings of another.” Your follow up at home reinforcing your child as he/she demonstrates “empathy” each day would be a wonderful home-school connection.
