Reimbursement for transportation costs is available for guardians of students who are eligible to
ride the school bus. Students are eligible to ride the school bus if they live more than 1.5 miles
from their school of attendance or in an approved serious safety hazard area. This form will close
on Friday, September 15, 2023 at 4 p.m. No requests will be accepted after that date/time.
Current bus riders are also eligible to change to parent/guardian transportation status and receive
reimbursement if they choose to remove district transportation to and from school.
● Reimbursement is only available for the custodial parent/guardian listed in Skyward Family
Access
● Reimbursement is only available for students in grades K-12 who are eligible for bus
transportation
● The current Federal IRS mileage reimbursement rate will be used to determine the
reimbursement amount
● Reimbursement is only allowed for the days your student(s) is in attendance and you
have provided transportation to and from school
● CUSD #205 will determine the shortest route from home to school
● Galesburg High School students who drive themselves to school are not eligible for
reimbursement
● Parents/Guardians must notify the District transportation office of any dates their student(s)
are transported by another individual
The reimbursement date will begin on September 18, 2023. Reimbursement checks will be mailed
after approval by the CUSD #205 Board of Education at the June 2024 board meeting.
Families will be emailed a google form that they must complete and submit to be eligible for
reimbursement. The form will close on September 15, 2023.
