BWMS Family Update

We are excited to welcome our local Veterans to BWMS next Friday 11-14-25. Special thanks to planning committee and many others for their support as they once again help our school honor our local heroes. We look forward to honoring our local heroes starting at 8:15 AM next Friday.

Also, we wanted to send out a quick reminder that our Eagles Night Out time for this Friday was adjusted to 4:30-6:30 due to the home playoff football game. Students will be available for pick up based on the parking directions below.

• The Builders Club Food Drive will be November 12-25. Encourage your Advisory to Support the Big Walnut Friends Who Share! Check out the details below.
• Send in those cans of green beans or corn and support the district-wide food drive from 11/3/25 through 11/14/25.

• The first Eagles Night will be this Friday 11/7/25 from 4:30PM-6:30PM (please note the time change due to the HS football playoff game). Sponsored by our Student Council and SOAR Leadership, this is a time for fun, games and more at BWMS. Cost is $5 at the door.

• BWMS would love to celebrate your Veteran at our annual Veterans Day Breakfast on Friday 11/14/25. See Details Below or click here to register.

• Mid point of the 2nd quarter is Friday 11/14/25 for our next Grade Update Day. This is a great time to check in with your students about their academic progress this quarter.

• Our next BWMS Conference Night is scheduled for Thursday 11/20/25. Sign up here or see below.
• BWMS is excited for our Staff vs Student Volleyball Game and Winter Pep Rally on Tuesday 11/25/25.
• Thanksgiving Break is 11/26/25 through 11/28/25.
• There is no school for students on Monday 12/1/25 due to Teacher PD Day.
• STAR testing in Reading and Math will take place the week of December 2nd.

You may choose to sign up to meet with the team of teachers or any of the related arts teachers depending on your needs, just make sure to include everyone you desire when you sign up. Please note, if you cannot find a time slot that meets your needs, we will have the second round of conferences available for sign up soon. Please contact the office for support.

*Please note we have designated 3:00 PM-6:00 PM conferences on Thursday 11/20/25 to be in person and 6:00 PM - 7:00 PM conferences is virtual. We thank you for partnering with us to Inspire and Guide your student in 2025-26.

Big Walnut Local Schools (BWLS) will once again participate in the Delaware County “Hunger Games” initiative. The goal of this initiative is to provide families in need with the essentials for a complete Thanksgiving dinner. Each of our buildings will be responsible for collecting green beans and/or corn, which will contribute to the assembly of meal kits for families in need throughout Delaware County. The collection period will begin on Monday, November 3rd, and end on Friday, November 14th.

Reminder that all athletes should have their final forms complete and a current OHSAA Evaluation Exam Form uploaded to Final Forms directly or emailed to Mrs. Kreager stephaniekreager@bwls.net. All physicals must be received prior to the first tryout date or first practice of the season.
