We are one week removed from our Homecoming events of Monarch Mayhem. I wanted to take a moment to try and share exactly what it means to have an event like Mayhem. Students were involved in everything from assemblies at feeder schools, parade, competitions, decorations, shirt designs, cheers, and dances. It is almost impossible to capture everything that was created and performed throughout the week. The pictures and videos hopefully show part of the story, but it may miss out on the feelings and sentiments of community that we create during Mayhem. I am sharing a few of the short videos we have been posting on social media that captures some of what was happening.

Hopefully the students at Monarch had a great time with everything, including Seniors remembering it as an important part of their high school memories and underclassmen looking forward to doing it again next year.

Have a great weekend-Sko Yotes!

Congratulations to Monarch's National Merit Semifinalists!

The National Merit Scholarship Corporation (NMSC®) announced the names of more than 16,000 Semifinalists in the 71st annual National Merit Scholarship Program. These academically talented high school seniors have an opportunity to continue in the competition for some 6,930 National Merit Scholarships worth nearly $26 million that will be offered next spring. To be considered for a Merit Scholarship® award, Semifinalists must fulfill several requirements to advance to the Finalist level of the competition. About 95 percent of the Semifinalists are expected to attain Finalist standing, and approximately half of the Finalists will win a National Merit Scholarship, earning the Merit Scholar® title.

Fall Semester Final Exam Schedule Fall Semester Final Exam Schedule

  • Attendance is taken for periods designated for “review” and “exam”

  • Buses will run normal pick up and departure times all week.

  • MHS remains a closed campus during this important week of final exams.

  • ALL requests to adjust a student’s exam schedule must be approved by the principal. Please take care of these arrangements prior to exam week.

In order to be in compliance with minimum student contact hour requirements, we have had to make adjustments to our final exam schedule for the 2025-26 school year. We will still have four days of exams, but the biggest change is that we will have "review periods" before each exam where attendance is taken instead of open "access periods". Also, there are exams on the final day of school before the break.

All BVSD high schools had to make similar adjustments. We will still have a process for students who need to take exams early due to conflicts/absences, but will ask for those declarations to begin around the Thanksgiving break.

Make your voice heard: Applications now open for the BVSD Green Youth Council

In the Boulder Valley School District (BVSD), student voice isn’t just encouraged—it’s essential. This fall, two dynamic student-led organizations—the Green Youth Council and the Youth Equity Council—will be welcoming new middle and high school members. Applications are now open, offering a unique opportunity for students to lead meaningful change across the district.

Free Dental Care

Colorado Mission of Mercy (COMOM) is a nonprofit organization that hosts a large-scale, two-day free dental clinic in a different Colorado community each year. Since 2007, COMOM has served more than 20,000 patients and provided over $18 million in donated dental services.

The clinics are open to anyone in need and are held in large venues—such as schools or event centers—that they transform into fully functional, 125-chair dental facilities. Over two days, patients receive cleanings, fillings, root canals, extractions, dentures, and ceramic crowns—all at no cost. This effort is made possible through the support of nearly 200 volunteer dentists, along with hygienists, assistants, lab technicians, healthcare professionals, and hundreds of community volunteers. Beyond relieving pain, they restore oral health and appearance—helping patients regain confidence, dignity, and even employment opportunities.

This year, the clinic will be held in Loveland at The Ranch on October 17–18. They expect to serve more than 1,600 patients with the help of over 2,000 volunteers. Because of Loveland’s proximity, this could be a valuable resource for many BVSD students and families.

Learn more on the COMOM website.

Cuidado Dental Gratuito
