Debriefing 10/16 The Great Shakeout Earthquake Drill
In Case of a Real Disaster...How to Reunify with Your Child(ren)
Emergency preparedness is a vital part of our commitment to student and staff safety, and disaster drills like the ShakeOut help ensure that everyone knows the following steps for parent and child reunification in the event of a real emergency.
- Step 1: In order to prepare and expedite the reunification process, you must first make sure you have updated your emergency contacts on Aeries. Your child(ren) will not be released to anyone who is not listed as an emergency contact.
- Step 2: Please refer to the GoogleMap of our campus below. Note that there is 1 designated area called the Student Request Gate located on Pacific Avenue where parents must first line up in an orderly fashion to request for their child(ren).
- Step 3: Runners will retrieve your child(ren) and respective to your child(ren)'s last names, will meet you at one of the Student Release Gates (located in the parking lot).
If you want to learn more about our Comprehensive School Safety Plan and debrief the disaster drill, please come to our School Site Council meeting tomorrow on October 20th from 3:00-4:00 pm. Thank you!

October DEIB Observances
At Providencia we are committed to addressing ways to create a safe, welcoming and supportive environment where all students, especially students of color and/or those who have been historically marginalized, are respected and valued. With our diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging efforts, we foster a school culture of inclusion, we celebrate our diversity, and students see themselves reflected in our curriculum.
DEIB provides us an opportunity to learn and recognize the contributions and accomplishments of historically marginalized groups. Throughout the month we’ll feature websites and book recommendations, local celebrations and resources.
Diversity, Inclusion, Equity and Belonging Displays
We are working on DEIB displays in our office and student hallway with artifacts and pictures of historical figures. If you would like to display an artifact (i.e. art, clothing, accessories, books) to represent any of the observances below, please label it with your child's name and bring it to school. We will return it at the end of our October observances. Thank you!
Missed the DEIB Meeting?
If you are interested in learning more about our DEIB efforts, please come to our next PTA and SSC meetings!
