Toucan Trubune
November
Dear Toucan Families,
As we welcome November, I want to extend a heartfelt thank you to all our families for your participation and support during our exciting October events! From Family Food and Fun Morning and STEAM Night to our Fall Festival and our first-ever Culture Day, it was wonderful to see our school community come together to celebrate, learn, and make lasting memories.
As we continue through the second quarter, our students are working hard to grow academically and reach their learning goals. We encourage you to support your child's success by reading together each night, discussing what they are learning, and ensuring they attend school every day. Every day of learning matters, and consistent attendance is one of the keys to academic success! Together, we can help every Toucan soar!
As we enter this season of gratitude, I am especially thankful for the partnership we share with our families. I look forward to seeing you at our upcoming 5th Grade Musical, PTO Movie Night, and our Thanksgiving Feast as we celebrate the wonderful school community we are building together.
Wishing you and your family a joyful and blessed Thanksgiving!
Sincerely,
Rachael Cordeiro

🦃 GTE Thanksgiving Feast – You're Invited! 🦃
We are excited to invite our GTE families to join us for our Thanksgiving Feast on Friday, November 20th, during your child's designated lunch time! We look forward to celebrating this special season of gratitude with our Toucan families!
Due to limited space in our cafeteria, each student may have a maximum of two guests. This may include two adults or one adult and one child. Every guest, regardless of age, counts toward the two-guest limit.
Thanksgiving meals are $7 per guest and must be purchased in advance by November 12th. This deadline is important so we can order enough food for everyone. Meals will not be available for purchase on the day of the event.
Thank you for your understanding and cooperation. We can't wait to celebrate Thanksgiving with our GTE families! 🧡

Leader in Me
Golden Terrace is a Nationally Recognized Lighthouse School. Our Toucans are leading their way through the day using the 7 Habits of Highly Effective People. Consider the family BINGO challenge during Thanksgiving Break. Your child can turn in the BINGO card with at least 1 BINGO of 5 in a row to be entered in for a drawing.
Power Packs
GTE will be providing Power Packs through Feeding Dreams to students and families who need to fill the hunger gap from Friday’s school lunch to Monday’s school breakfast. Power Packs will be provided on Fridays and include kid-friendly and nutritious meals such as chicken, beans, rice, cereal, yogurt, and more.
If your family would benefit from provided weekend meals, please email Ms. Brianna Morgante, GTE’s School Counselor, at morgab1@collierschools.com expressing your interest. A consent form will then be sent home with your child.
